And while over the course of the past year or so, we've refined and added improvements to the site-like the fully searchable database of window coverings and related interior fashion product suppliers introduced this past March-we now have launched a completely redesigned version of DWCdesignet.com.
Why fix something that's not actually broken?
Because in these days of constant change-and technology certainly changes on a nearly daily basis-there are tremendous new Net capabilities now available that can make the D&WC site even more valuable to its users, including the approximately 6,500 new visitors who access DWCdesignet each month.
So, with mouse in hand, our Webmaster, Jennifer Hochgesang, has used her Net-wise knowledge to broaden the scope and update the graphics of DWCdesignet to include many new, exciting features that we believe make it even more user-friendly and refreshing. The contemporary new design allows immediate visibility and access to a number of avenues:
• An archive of all issues of Draperies & Window Coverings since January 1996
• The ability to find a particular supplier with just the click of a mouse
• Find out what's happening now in the industry
• The ability to check out the latest products available
• Attention-grabbing links to leading suppliers
We've also added an element of fun to the site. "Can You Remember?: DWC's Question of the Week" allows visitors to participate in a quiz that makes them eligible to win prizes. We've also added a new section entitled "What's New," which this month lets visitors take a virtual behind-the-scenes tour of the magazine's production offices to learn more about how the magazine is prepared and who's involved in bringing you each issue.
One of the great benefits of the Internet is the instant accessibility to information, and that played a huge part in what's new about the DWCdesignet site. We're also hoping that it will provide us with immediate feedback about the new design. If you've never visited DWCdesignet.com, we hope you'll do so and let us know what you think. If you are a frequent or veteran visitor, we'd appreciate your reaction to the redesign. Just click on the "Contact Us" button and start typing. We're waiting to hear from you!
