Hunter Douglas iMagine Design Center Receives W3 Silver Awards
Hunter Douglas, Upper Saddle River, NJ, was recognized in the 2008 W3 Awards, receiving two Silver awards for its iMagine™ Design Center.
The W3 Awards honor creative excellence on the Web and is the first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms and everyone in between. Top-tier professionals who make up the International Academy of the Visual Arts are invited to serve as judges for these awards.
A click away from its home page, www.hunterdouglas.com, the iMagine Design Center is an interactive gallery that allows visitors to see every Hunter Douglas window fashion in its full range of colors, fabrics, materials and constructions in detailed close-up views and in customizable room settings. It also visually displays the effects of light in a room. The iMagine Design Center received a Silver award for Best Structure and Navigation, as well as a Silver award in the Consumer Goods Web site category.

Hunter Douglas competed against more than 3,000 entries from top companies and agencies worldwide for the awards. Other Silver award winners include CondeNet-Conde Nast Publications, Disneyland Resort Paris, E! Entertainment Television, LeapFrog Interactive, Microsoft/MSN Entertainment, Newsweek and Yahoo.
Lutron Breaks Ground for Fourth Experience Center
Lutron Electronics, Coopersburg, PA, broke ground in October on its fourth Experience Center, which will open in the heart of midtown Manhattan, New York City, NY, in early 2009.
The new, 1,800-square-foot Experience Center will be located on the ground floor of the Decoration & Design (D&D) Building at 979 Third Ave. This location will feature a variety of Lutron’s residential products showcased in space typical of New York City living. In addition to bedroom, kitchen and media/family room vignettes, a showroom and design center will give clients the opportunity to view a wide variety of product colors, finishes, sustainable lighting control options and shade fabrics, the company stated.
The Manhattan location marks the company’s fourth Experience Center. Other locations include Irvine, CA; Coopersburg, PA, (at the company’s world headquarters); and the company’s first Experience Center, which opened in 2001, in Plantation, FL.
Lutron designs and manufactures lighting controls and automated window treatments for residential and commercial applications.

Eddie Z’s Blinds & Drapery, Brookfield, WI, has added a new 10,000-square-foot building for its showroom and customer service, the company announced.

The new Sunbrella logo features a more contemporary look, aimed to reflect the brand’s evolution as a performance fabric with a sense of style for outside and inside the home. The distinctive yellow, red and blue umbrella has become a stylized umbrella, symbolizing the trust and the protective qualities associated with the brand, the company stated.
Live Web-based Training Sessions Held Twice Monthly

The program began with the understanding that training seminars are not always easy to fit into dealers’ schedules. HD Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
