The Paint & Decorating Retailers Association (PDRA), Fenton, MO, has named Nicholas R. Cichiclo as acting exective vice president. He succeeds Ernest W. Stewart.
Cichiclo has more than 50 years experience covering virtually all aspects of the paint and decorating products field. While assuming his new duties he will retain responsibilities as vice president of sales for Paint & Decorating Retailer magazine and PDRA trade shows.
The PDRA board of directors will conduct an industry-wide search for a permanent executive vice president in the coming months.
DAMOUR GOES INTERNATIONAL WITH DECORATING SCHOOLS
Pam Damour's Professional Home Decorating Schools, Champlain, NY, are going international. Damour and her staff will travel to Australia for five weeks presenting Professional Home Decorating schools from Melbourne to the Great Barrier Reefs.
Damour has been holding her schools in the United States for five years. The schools' topics include basic window treatments, advanced window treatments, well-dressed tables, slipcover magic, romancing the bedroom and sensational shades.
Damour's U.S. travel schedule for 2000 features schools to be held in Freeport, TX; Wilmington, NC; Canton, OH; Sarasota, FL; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Sterling, VA; and Buffalo, NY.
Damour has written four how-to books on window treatments and appears regularly on "Home Matters" on the Discovery channel and "Decorating With Style" on the HGTV network.
MAROWITZ, ROBINSON, KOPPEL JOIN TEXTOL
Ron Marowitz, Sid Robinson and Hank Koppel have joined Textol Systems, Inc., Carlstadt, NJ, as sales representatives.
Marowitz will service workrooms, retailers and distributors in central Florida. He brings more than 20 years of sales experience in the drapery field to his new post.
Robinson will cover eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. He has serviced workshops and retailers in these areas for more than 35 years.
Koppel will cover Illinois, Wisconsin and the surrounding area. He brings more than 25 years of sales experience with window products and fabric to his position.
TECHNIKU PROMOTES MILLIGAN, HOLDERNESS; ADDS BAGWILL
Techniku Inc., Denver, CO, announces two promotions and an addition to its sales department. Combining more than 70 years of window coverings industry experience, the sales team is represented by members whose expertise ranges from executive management to installation, design and training.
Ted Milligan has been promoted to national sales manager. He joined the company in 1999 as national sales representative with 23 years of management experience in the window coverings industry with C & M Wood, Comfortex, Hunter Douglas Fabicator Division and his own fabrication company. Milligan's responsibilities include managing the sales team, creating strategic sales goals for the future of the company as well as covering the North American and South American sales territories.
Bill Holderness has been promoted to the newly created position of Western region sales engineer. He was been with the company for four years serving as national technical services representative and lead fabricator. His 23 years of industry experience includes all types of window coverings from soft to hard, manual to motorized and design, fabrication and installation. Holderness's repsonsibilities include sales for the western half of the United States and Canada.
John Bagwill joins Techniku with more than 30 years of experience in the window coverings industry. He has been appointed to the newly created position of Eastern region sales engineer. His experience includes retailing in his father's business, operating his own installation service for the trade, sales rep for Carole Fabrics, national sales trainer for Hunter Douglas and regional sales manager for Designer Blinds, Omaha, NE, and BTX Window Automation, Dallas, TX. Bagwill will be responsible for sales in the eastern half of the United States and Canada.
COLWELL APPOINTS VAN ARNAM
Colwell Industries Inc. has announced the appointment of Patrick Van Arnam to the position of executive vice president and general manager of Colwell/General, Inc., Indiana operations.
Van Arnam's career with Colwell began in 1965 when he worked as a printing apprentice at its Minneapolis, MN, facility. In 1975 he transferred to Colwell's newly acquired Heartland Press, Inc., Spencer, IA, and served as president until the sale of that company in 1999.
Colwell/General, Inc. specializes in the design, manufacture and fulfillment of sampling tools.
SEABROOK NAMES TOP HONORS, NEW ACCOUNT EXECS
Seabrook Wallcoverings, Inc., Memphis, TN, has named Kathy Gioia, Shelby Township, MI, the company's 1999 Account Executive of the Year. The award is based on sales performance in book plans, stock and contract as well as overall increased sales.
The company's Pacific region won the Region of the Year award. Members of that group include John Martin, Marlene DiLauro-Jack, Steve Watson, Linda Thomas, Ken Alldredge, Susan Young, Lauren Reiff, Claudia Yoshimi and Steve Raniszewski.
Jackie Quinn, Berwyn, PA, received the Book Placement Award and achieved membership in the $2 Million Club. Julie Chesnut, Chicago, IL, won the Contract Award. Tim Green, Lexington, TN, won the Stock Award.
The awards were announced during the company's 49th annual sales conference held in Olive Branch, MS.
In a separate announcement, Seabrook announced the addition of four new account executives.
Laura Cassisi has joined the company serving the Detroit, MI, area. She brings more than 20 years of sales experience to the Seabrook team.
The new contract account executive serving metropolitan New York and northern New Jersey is Alan Kwoczka. He brings experience with a manufacturer of customized consumer products to his new post.
Tim Kelly has been named to the territory covering Nebraska and Iowa. He has previous sales experience in this territory as a wall coverings account manager.
Robert Bannon represents Seabrook in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He has more than 20 years experience in the wall coverings industry.
FSC PRESENTS SALES AWARDS, NEW HIRES
FSC Wallcoverings, New York, NY, presented its annual sales awards at the company's national sales meeting in Boca Raton, FL, during the last week of December 1999.
Sales awards were presented by Philip Puschel, CEO, and Gerry Puschel, COO, of F. Schumacher & Co., to Ron Asch for Overall Account Manager of the Year; Blake Morris, for Western Region Account Manager of the Year; Mike Dudgeon for Southern Region Account Manager of the Year; and Jeff Shaffer for National Account Manager of the Year, all for FSC Wallcoverings.
Tony Fable received the Overall Account Manager of the Year award for the Waverly Lifestyle group.
FSC also announced the appointment of Ruthann Ross as account manager serving the territory that includes Tennessee and northern Alabama. Prior to joining the company she was sales manager for Multi-Media Solutions.
John Farmer has been appointed account manager for Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. He brings 20 years experience in the apparel business to his new post.
Frank Sandor has been appointed account manager for Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. He has more than 20 years experience in the wall coverings industry. Prior to joining FSC he was an account manager with Imperial Home Décor Group.
BARONE NAMED PRESIDENT OF TODAY'S WINDOW FASHIONS
Mark Barone has been hired as president of Today's Window Fashions Inc., San Diego, CA. He brings 25 years of industry experience to his new post where he will head the company's national expansion efforts.
Before joining the company, Barone served as accounts business manager at M & B Window Fashions and also worked as an account representative for Hunter Douglas Window Fashions. Barone also invented Blind-Glo blind cleaning products.
