GLEN RAVEN CUSTOM FABRICS—AMERICAS ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS IN DESIGN GROUP
Glen Raven Custom Fabrics—Americas, Glen Raven, NC, has announced the promotion of two senior designers to management positions. Greg Voorhis has been promoted to decorative fabrics design manager, and Sara Hall has been named technical design manager.
Voorhis is responsible for directing the styling and color for indoor and outdoor Sunbrella® furniture lines, decorative window, marine interior and distribution collections. Voorhis also is responsible for color and trend analysis for all Glen Raven Custom Fabrics markets.
Hall serves as liaison between Glen Raven research and development and the design group, responsible for the development of innovative new products. She also directs the development of fabrics for awnings, marine exteriors and sun control products as well as all non-Sunbrella products such as contract wall covering and upholstery.
CLEAR CHOICE PROMOTES BROADWAY TO VP SALES
Danny Broadway has been promoted to vice president of sales for Clear Choice USA, Atlanta, GA.
Broadway will be responsible for assisting offices in the field to drive higher volumes of sales and to direct the company’s new regional manager program that was planned for a June launch.
In 2003 and 2004, Broadway worked as a financial planner with AIG, providing him with a financial background and management experience that has added a significant dimension to his overall management perspective, the company states. He started with Clear Choice USA in April 2005 as a director of field operations at the company’s Nashville, TN, location while also providing management support for the St. Louis, MO, market. In July 2005, Broadway became the co-owner and licensee for the Clear Choice USA field office in Nashville.
While operating the Nashville office, Broadway built a staff of effective salespeople and professional installers that consistently kept the office in the top five sales producers throughout the company’s entire network. In 2006, his Clear Choice USA operation generated more than $1.5 million in sales and increased that number by 25 percent in 2007.
DEMARAY JOINS GLEN OAK LUMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Glen Oak Lumber & Milling, Montello, WI, has announced the appointment of Matt Demaray to its board of directors. Demaray brings a wealth of business experience to the board and its committees, the company states.
Demaray serves full-time as vice president of Huizenga Capital Management (HCM), Oak Brook, IL. He joined HCM in 2000 as a senior investment analyst and was promoted to his current role in 2006. As vice president, he performs investment analysis and due diligence, with a focus on hedge fund money managers.
IFDA HONORS BECKMANN WITH 2008 TRAILBLAZER AWARD
Textile designer and colorist Barbara Beckmann was awarded the Trailblazer Award by the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) at its recent 2008 Industry Forum & Conference in Los Angeles, CA. The Trailblazer Award is presented annually to a person who has been responsible for an innovation that meaningfully alters the way some aspect of the furnishings and design industry functions or is perceived.
Beckmann is a versatile designer and accomplished colorist known for hand-painted and printed fabrics. She is best known for exceptional silks hand-woven in Italy, Thailand, India and China. In addition, the company sources other fine groundcloths including linen, cotton, wool, velvet, wovens and acrylic to interior designers and trade showrooms for use in residential and commercial applications.
