do you service?
Tuzmen: Our customers are interior decorators and independent window
coverings retailers located throughout the United States, Europe
D&WC: What describes your niche market?
Tuzmen: Our niche is based on the understanding that not all horizontal
blinds are the same. Customers like the versatility of horizontal
blinds (tilting and lifting) but not the privacy features and/or
look and feel of materials used.
Our patented processes allow us to manufacture horizontal blinds with no-holes
for privacy (clip system to prevent slats from falling down) with slats shaped
for a shutter look, and sheer fabrics for a softer look.
D&WC: What are your strengths in the marketplace?
Tuzmen: Our greatest strength is the quality of our products. Every product we
manufacture is custom made and requires a focus on details to meet the customer’s
We are known to fabricate horizontal blinds that close tighter than any others.
We accomplish this by using slats without any holes and holding them with clips
to prevent from them from falling down.
D&WC: What trends and cycles do you see occurring in the industry?
your business addressing them?
Tuzmen: The wide-slat and soft-look horizontal products are growing in popularity.
The two-inch wood and faux wood blinds are fast becoming a commodity and customers
are requesting alternatives to them.
We offer two unique patented products to address this growing trend; Shutteresque
and Fabresque. Shutteresque comes with 2 1/2-inch wide contoured slats for a
shutter look. Fabresque combines sheer fabrics with slats in between for complete
light control from softly diffused to privacy.
D&WC: What distinguishes you from the competition?
Tuzmen: We believe the horizontal blinds are the most versatile window treatments
available today. The functions of tilting and lifting they provide make them
very popular. We’ve taken the horizontal blinds to a new level by offering
no-hole privacy features, wide and contoured slats and soft sheer fabrics.
