Several window coverings and interior design manufacturers and suppliers were quick to respond to the tragic events of September 11, 2001, by offering aid in the form of donations to various relief organizations.
Moe Rouzati, president and CEO of Aveno Blinds & Shutters, Atlanta, GA, has partnered with the American Red Cross to help raise money for the Disaster Relief Fund. Between October 1 and January 31, 2002, Aveno will donate a portion of each unit it sells to its regular dealer base to the Red Cross.
Hunter Douglas Inc. is donating to the special New York Times 9/11 Neediest Fund, managed by the New York Times Foundation, which will cover all administrative costs. Hunter Douglas is matching contributions up to $100,000 from its employees throughout North America and from its independent fabricator partners.
Imperial Home Décor Group, Inc. (IHDG), Cleveland, OH, says a portion of the proceeds from all sales generated from two new product collections will be donated to the American Red Cross Relief Fund. The collections are residential wall coverings called Spirit of America and a new Instant Stencils collection titled USA Stars and Stripes.
