BAMBOO ABBOTT FLORIDA TAKES ON KENSINGTON LINE
Bamboo Abbott Florida Corp., Pompano Beach, FL, has become a licensed independent
wholesale fabricator for Kensington Window Expressions.
Founded in 1972, Bamboo Abbott Florida has a customer base of independent retailers
and designers from New York to the Florida Keys and as far west as Tennessee.
It occupies a 26,000-square-foot facility with more than 40 employees. The company
began with matchstick woven woods and now with the Kensington line will offer
shades, blinds, wood treatments and horizontal and vertical window shadings in
a range of colors, fabrics and hardware systems.
Kensington manufactures and markets a streamlined brand of window fashions targeted
exclusively to independent retailers and design professionals.
NIBROL NAMED SC MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR
Nibrol, Lancaster, SC, has been chosen Manufacturer of the Year in the small business
category of firms located in the state by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
The awards are the top manufacturing awards given in South Carolina. Award winners
were chosen based on quality of life for employees, community and professional
involvement and community partnerships.
A division of Turnils North America, Suwanee, GA, Nibrol is a textile component
manufacturer for Venetian blinds. It officially began production in February 1999.
RICHVIEW RELOCATES
Richview Window Coverings, City of Industry, CA, has relocated to a new facility
only two buildings away from its previous location. The companys new address
is: 770 South Epperson, Industry, CA, 91748.
The move allows the company to support the growth it has achieved over the past
year and makes more room available as it continues to develop new programs to
meet ever-changing industry and customer needs.
FUA UPDATES LOGO
FUA Window Coverings, New Braunfels, TX, announces a new look. The company has
updated it logo to reflect its efforts to stay current with trends.
The company, founded in 1956, specializes in hand weaving and assembling high-quality
bamboo, rattan and wood shades.
K-BLAIR ADDS INLAY COLLECTION
K-Blair Finials, Atlanta, GA, has announced its new Inlay Collection of finials,
rods, brackets, swag-holders and rings. The collection features six hand-carved
designs inlaid in the wood rods as well as several new hand-cut crystal finials.
All of the products are offered in the companys 60 hand-painted standard
finishes plus custom colors.
The focus in custom window treatment now is on design elegance and the beauty
of the drapery hardware rather than so much on the fabric, said Kay Blair,
founder and owner.
The Inlay Collection is the newest addition to the companys line, which
is distributed wholesale to the trade only throughout the United States.
ASID LAUNCHES JOB BANK
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Washington, DC, has launched
the ASID Job Bank on its Web site: www.asid.org. The job bank creates a centralized
location for the exchange of employment information between professionals and
employers in the interior design industry.
Design professionals can search listings, set up personal profiles, post résumés
and apply online at no cost. Professionals can search all of the jobs currently
in the job bank or search for positions in specific fields or geographic areas.
Additionally, students can search for internship opportunities.
Inversely, organizations can seek new talent. Employers can place ads listing
position openings and have the option to search the résumé database
for job seekers.
ASID has an audience of 20,200 interior designers, 7,150 students and 4,150 industry
partner representatives. More than 65,000 visitors come to its site each month.
