Western Horizons
On-Site™ Corp. opens a new corporate headquarters and expands educational opportunities.

The On-Site Corp. has opened a new, larger corporate headquarters in the resort town of Coeur d’Alene, ID. The grand opening for its new West Coast facility took place April 18, 2002, and the first class for its On-Site University training program in the new location took place the following Friday and Saturday.

The increase in the facility’s size has allowed the company to create a greatly expanded, state-of-the-art West Coast University that rivals its East Coast University (see D&WC, May 2000, page 12). The new training facility offers a much larger selection of window coverings, including Hunter Douglas Window Fashions products, for enhanced hands-on experience.

The company’s two top-notch University training facilities are unlike any others in the United States. On-Site now can boast it not only offers the most effective means for cleaning a large percentage of the window treatments created today, but also professional training unavailable anywhere else.

INCREASED EDUCATION, INCREASED PROFITS

Along with these changes, On-Site is also in the process of creating a new Web site for certified technicians who have successfully completed the On-Site University training program. This site will function as an On-Site Certified Technician locator for customers who need the On-Site cleaning service. It also will offer links to individual technicians’ Web sites.

The new On–Site Web site locator service is offered in addition to the company’s existing toll-free referral lines, as well as its online Certified Technicians’ forum and the toll-free information line as part of its continued effort to supply service after the sale to On-Site owners.

Each year, more elaborate and delicate window treatments are being created that cannot be cleaned via traditional methods. On-Site has repeatedly demonstrated that its system is one of the safest and most effective means for cleaning these window treatments—and just about any other fabric item. That opens a huge potential market for those offering this service.

Anyone who is in the window coverings industry or the dry cleaning industry should be offering this service to his or her customers. To be successful in business, one must consider new ways to increase profit. The demand for the On-Site service already exists, a shortage of people offering this service is apparent, and it’s only a matter of time before the competition catches on. Why wouldn’t any prudent businessperson want to offer this service under these circumstances?

ONGOING COMMITMENT

But, of course, the most important point is simply that On-Site service works. It not only provides a safe and effective cleaning method, it guarantees no shrinkage or damage will occur. That should be music to the ears of the dry cleaning industry—no more waivers for the customer to sign, and no more turning down jobs because the items can’t be cleaned in-plant.

What about On-site’s plans for the future? As always, the company will continue investigating methods for cleaning both new and existing window treatments in the most efficient way possible. And, as part of the process, it will continue to upgrade its equipment as well as the training methods and facilities as needed. All of the updates will be posted continually and discussed on the online forum, a free service available to all graduates of the On-Site University.

On-Site also will approach more of the industry’s major window coverings manufacturers about the effectiveness of the cleaning system. Some, such as Hunter Douglas, have already recognized the value of this service for their products and are referring On-Site to their manufacturers, fabricators, sales reps and customers. The leads generated in the process will be passed on only to On-Site Certified Technicians (On-Site University graduates) to ensure that only quality service is associated with the On-Site name.

An important part of the On-Site business philosophy has always been service after the sale. That means with the purchase of the On-Site business package, owners are not just getting a business, they are inheriting a family of experts who are always there for support and continuing education. An 800-number is available so that both new and existing On-Site owners can find quick answers to their questions.
