WCAA Notes
PINDER RECEIVES INDUSTRY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The WCAA presented its Industry Achievement award to LaVelle Pinder,
LaVelle Pinder Decorating, at its national meeting held April 3, 2003,
held in conjunction with the International Window Coverings Expo in
Baltimore, MD.
Pinder is a longtime supporter of the WCAA and tireless activist for
the need of furthering industry education. She also is a founder of
one of the association’s local chapters. The award was presented
by Beth Hodges.
LOCAL CHAPTERS
The WCAA is currently developing local networking groups in the following
areas. These groups meet on a monthly basis and discuss topics ranging
from marketing to fabricating to presentations from area business
professionals.

NETWORKING DINNER
The WCAA will host its 2nd Annual Networking Dinner Friday, September
19 in Greenville, SC, at the Greenville Hilton. This is a great
opportunity to meet other WCAA members attending the Custom Home
Furnishings Industry Educational Conference.
Dinner will start around 6:30 p.m. There will be a drawing for door
prizes. The cost for the event will be $30 per person. Advance registration
is required due to limited seating and space will not be held without
a paid registration.

ONLINE TESTING NOW AVAILABLE
The WCAA is proud to announce the addition of online testing for both
of its Certified Workroom Professional and Certified Window Treatment
Consultant programs. This new feature will enable participants to
take their exams in their homes or offices and not have to travel
to one of the testing sites.
