HRA LAUCHES AS OUTSOURCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICE

HomeRun Associates, Inc. (HRA), a full-service professional business development and branding firm for the home furnishing and related industries, was launched in January to offer professional services to manufacturers, fabricators, distributors and retailers of home furnishings. The new company is headed by Jay Kotin, president, who has developed, patented and marketed several product lines for various sectors of the industry over the years.

The idea behind HRA is to allow companies to outsource development and branding and use its industry professionals without the long-term overhead implications of an in-house staff.

“Our expert staff has over 200 cumulative years of experience working in top management, supplier and consulting positions with the most prominent firms in our industry,” Kotin said.

“We have been involved in major international product development and launch procedures, marketing and distribution programs, intellectual property investigations as well as the formation and maintenance of strategic alliances, attainment of venture capital funds, and joint ventures and acquisitions,” he added.

D. ZELINSKY & SONS MERGES SUBSIDIARY

Installation Service Corp., Brisbane, CA, has been merged into D. Zelinsky & Sons, Inc. The decision to merge was made by the management of both companies.

The decision was based on the fact that both companies had many of the same customers and suppliers and, therefore, the merge would eliminate duplicate accounting, subcontract, insurance and administrative costs, according to a company statement. Also, as one company, the same individual will supervise field operations for painting, wall covering and window coverings.

Previously, Installation Service Corp. was a wholly owned subsidiary of D. Zelinsky & Sons.

NEW FILM PROVIDES MAXIMUM LIGHT, HEAT CONTROL

CPFilms, Martinsville, VA, has introduced a new solar control window film designed to allow sunlight to shine brightly through the glass while taking the near infrared (heat) out of the sun’s rays.

Vista SpectraSelect 75 film is a laminate of polyester and metallized coatings. It is constructed with an exclusive clear, distortion-free adhesive system and a scratch resistant face coating that allows for easy maintenance using standard window cleaning products including those with ammonia. Objects viewed through glass fitted with this nearly invisible film usually appear to be more sharply focused than through untreated glass, the company states.

YORK SELECTED AS MOUNT VERNON LICENSEE

York Wallcoverings, York, PA, has been designated an official licensee by historic Mount Vernon to develop a collection of wall coverings, borders and art accent murals to be released in April 2003.

York vice president and design director Ronald Redding noted that many of the designs would draw on documents in the Mount Vernon archives. “This incredible repository of President Washington’s documents, manuscripts and personal diaries is a treasure trove,” he said. “He selected the distinctive color palette for Mount Vernon; even developed his own formula for wallpaper paste.”

Mount Vernon, located a short distance from Washington, DC, is the second most visited historic American home. It is where George and Martha Washington resided from 1759 to 1799.
