WCMA NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA), New York, NY,
has appointed Carolynn Jennings as its new executive director. Jennings
has served as deputy director for the association since January 2002.
Jennings has more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector
working for associations as diverse as the American Institute of Graphic
Arts, Dance/USA and the New York City Association of Life Underwriters.
Throughout her career, she has held positions that include general
manager, CEO and CFO. She has developed expertise in operational effectiveness,
finance, marketing and event planning.
We have a lot of growing to do, and I look forward to helping
the association reach its full potential, Jennings says.
Jennings replaces outgoing executive director Peter Rush, who will
continue as the executive director of the Window Covering Safety Council.
WCMA is the trade association for North American manufacturers of
window covering products and their suppliers. It is an accredited
ANSI standards writing organization and currently authors the National
Standard for Safety of Corded Window Covering Products. In addition,
WCMA sponsors the Product Innovation Awards, which recognize industry
innovation with regard to safety, style, technical advancement and
overall design (see D&WC, May 2002, page 24).
GULF COAST WINDOW COVERING EXPANDS SALES
TEAM
Gulf Coast Window Covering, Houston, TX, announces the addition of
three new sales representatives to its team.
Brian Crandall, based out of Tulsa, OK, joins the company with more
than seven years of window coverings experience in retail sales and
management. Crandall will be responsible for accounts located in northern
and eastern Oklahoma as well as northwest Arkansas.
Patricia Creekmore, based out of Houston, TX, comes to Gulf Coast
with more than 10 years experience in the window coverings industry.
Creekmore has held the position of sales representative for two other
blind fabricators before joining with Gulf Coast. She will be responsible
for accounts located in the western and southwestern parts of Houston.
Pat McDougle, also based out of Houston, joins the company in the
position of shutter sales coordinator. McDougle comes to Gulf Coast
with more than 14 years of experience in retail sales and training
and education in the home furnishings industry. In his new position
he will be responsible for the sales and promotion of Hunter Douglas
Palm Beach Shutters in the Texas market.
SUNSHINE DRAPERY APPOINTS NEW DIVISION HEAD
Harvey Carafiol, longtime St. Louis, MO, furniture executive has joined
Sunshine Drapery & Interior Fashions, St. Louis, as head of its
new custom furniture division, according to Les Finkelstein, president.
MILLER JOINS WINDOW FASHIONS, INC.
Window Fashions, Inc., Cheswick, PA, welcomes Jen Miller to its contract
department. Miller brings 13 years of retail management and customer
service experience to her new post.
PEREZ MOVES TO PROGRESSIVE FOREST INDUSTRIES
Bob Perez has joined the team at Progressive Forest Industries, Corona,
CA. He brings 23 years of experience in sales, marketing and woodworking
to the company, a customer service driven wood shutter component manufacturer
and distributor. |
