On September 19, 1996, the Connecticut and Northeast (Massachusetts/New Hampshire) local chapters will host a special fall regional luncheon meeting. All current, past and prospective members are invited to attend.

The meeting will feature speakers and entertainment, with a keynote talk, "The Art of the Sale -- Winning Presentations," being given by Lee Tannenbaum, vice president, sales, Mill Supply Division. Mill Supply is an Industry Partner member of the WCAA.

The meeting will begin at noon at the Fife and Drum Restaurant at the Ramada Inn in Auburn, MA (10 to 15 minutes from Sturbridge Village). For information, contact Bonnie Kramer or Janis Malone at (860) 669-7341, or Sue Millman at (508) 851-7770.

The Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) is the only national non-profit trade association dedicated to the retail window coverings industry and to the dealers, decorators and designers who are its members. For more information on becoming a member and member benefits, contact WCAA at (847) 480-7955.

Industry Partner Support Grows
Industry support for the WCAA continues to gain momentum, and the WCAA welcomes its newest Industry Partner members: Designer Linens and Accessories (a division of Breidenstein Interiors), döfix No*Sew Inc., Gilmore Enterprises, Hunter Douglas Fabrication -- Southwest, Kashmir Fabrics, MechoShade Systems Inc., Mill Supply Division, Prestige Fabric Co., and Wisconsin Drapery Supply Inc.

Industry Partners are the associate members of the WCAA. They represent the industry suppliers, distributors and other allied companies that support the mission and the goals of the Window Coverings Association of America, and consequently the independent dealers, decorators, and designers who are the WCAA's direct members.

Design Competition Announced
The WCAA will sponsor a Window Design Competition with the winning entries being displayed at the World of Home Fashion show March 20 to 22, 1997, at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL.

As a kick-off for the competition, WCAA Board of Directors members Doyle Brakebill, Linda Evarts, Bonnie Kramer and LaVelle Pinder created idea-giving sample designs, which were displayed at the WCAA booth at the recent Pacific Home Fashion Fair in San Francisco, CA. Further information and details about entering the competition will be available in the October issue of Draperies & Window Coverings.
