BLALOCK JOINS BAMBOO ABBOTT

Kerry Blalock has joined Bamboo Abbott Florida Corp., Pompano Beach, FL, as vice president of sales and marketing. He brings more than 35 years of industry sales experience from Joanna and Levolor Home Fashions to his new post.

LOTUS & WINDOWARE HIRES SKELTON

Lotus & Windoware Inc., Memphis, TN, has hired Leslie Skelton as its new sales and marketing coordinator for its Memphis office. Skelton's duties will include developing and improving marketing and advertising plans and establishing customer relationships.

A recent graduate of Mississippi State University, Skelton obtained her degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. She has completed several internships with the Walt Disney Co. and was employed by Cumulus Communications.

WAVERLY ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN FABRICS, LICENSING, DESIGN PERSONNEL

Waverly, New York, NY, has announced several appointments and promotions.

Arthur S. Friedman has been appointed vice president of fabrics for the Waverly Lifestyle Group. He will direct the sales effort in line with the company's brand strategy and have direct responsibility for piece sales to independent retailers, manufacturers, jobbers and furniture, export and Canadian markets. Friedman assumes duties held by Robert Coleman who has moved to the Schumacher Furnishings Group.

Friedman previously was vice president of sales for Covington Fabrics Division. He also has held the position of national sales manager with Western Textile. Prior to that he was vice president of sales and marketing with Rockland Industries, Inc.

Carolyn D'Angelo has been promoted to vice president of licensing for Waverly Lifestyle Group. She will be responsible for all Waverly licensing activities including developing and executing strategic business plans for more than 20 licensees and major retail partners.

D'Angelo was hired in September 1999 as business manager for Home Fashions. Prior to that she was vice president of the Disney Home Products Divison of Springs Industries. She also has served as business manager for Federated and as a sales executive for Wamsutta.

Emily Mann-Leichter has been named director of design for wovens and window treatments. She will oversee design, development and worldwide sourcing of Waverly wovens while adding window design direction to her responsibilities. Mann-Leichter previously was the design director for wovens for WestPoint Stevens. Prior to that she was vice president of merchandising and design with Armel Industries.

Pamela Maffei-Toolan has been named director of design for printed fabrics, wall coverings and home fashions. In addition to her responsibilities as director of design and home fashions for Waverly Lifestyle Group, Maffei-Toolan adds printed fabric design and will oversee the design studio. Prior to Waverly she held the position of director of design at Crown Crafts. Prior to that she was at WestPoint Stevens, Cameo Interiors and Wamsutta. She has received two Tommy Awards from the American Printed Fabric Council for the design of bedding.

BARBERA MOVES TO MSI

Joe Barbera has left his position as marketing manager for PrimaLoft home and outdoor products at Albany International and now plans to focus his attention on his brand marketing company, Marketing Solutions International (MSI), Airmont, NY.

Prior to MSI, Barbera was brand marketing and merchandising manager for Trevira and Polarguard at Hoechst Celanese.
