Contemporary Flair

Modern design has always been characterized by clean, sleek lines and bright contrast in color and textures. The following pages combine these aspects and more by offering an image from classic to traditional that blends with today's comfortable living to create interiors with a new Contemporary Flair.
The soft look of linen or silk or the feel of sandblasted wood in a variety of fashionable colors is combined with the durability of vinyl in Kirsch's new DesignScapes[TM] horizontal blinds. Made of two-inch, lead-free vinyl slats they are available with cloth ladder tapes in coordinating or contrasting colors and a new, unique cloth bottomrail slip. Decorative tapes feature tapestry, ribbon, brocade and braided styles. Bottomrail, wand and tassels are made of wood and come in a range of hues designed to blend with any slat color.

Festive and colorful, this family room and entry are enhanced with the whimsical designs from Sandpiper Studios' Gail Pittman: An American Artist collection of fabrics and wall coverings from Seabrook. These designs were taken from Pittman's hand-painted ceramic patterns and coordinate perfectly with her dinnerware designs. The collection also offers coordinating window valances, placemats and pillows.

Contemporary style is hospitable and easy living as depicted here in the new Sanitas® Classic Series Cayman Collection. Echoing current interest in neutral abstract florals, softened patinas and impressionistic style, this collection offers textural contrasts and a quieter elegance that is both intriguing and fitting for the eclectic contemporary furnishings used in interiors today.

Decorating with a contemporary flair can be achieved even with traditional sheers which are once again available in dozens of colors from Decrotex, Inc. Soft pastels can create a very feminine feeling when combined with modern furnishings. Choose from an array of pastel and jewel tones in 118-inch sheers in many interesting textures.

UltraWood[TM] blinds from American Hardwood are manufactured from a unique combination of basswood and engineered thermoplastics to be both beautiful and functional and give the appearance of traditional two-inch wood blinds. Ideal for high moisture environments like bathrooms and kitchens, UltraWoods are the perfect solution for this contemporary whirlpool bath.
