Boston Curtain & Drapery Show features educational opportunities and product offerings.

The East Coast's Boston Curtain & Drapery Club Show is the next site to view rows and rows of exciting window covering exhibits and choose from an excellent seminar schedule providing a personal, friendly atmosphere in which to master the intricacies of the industry -- sponsored by Window Fashions magazine and Messe Frankfurt, Inc.

About 1,500 window covering professionals from the United States and Canada are expected to attend the event February 27 to March 1, 1998, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA. The trade show floor will comprise window treatments; decorative accessories; wall coverings; fabrics; bed, bath and linen products; ready-mades; workroom equipment and tools; and related products.

Experienced Team of Faculty
The team of presenters conducting seminars at the Boston Curtain & Drapery Show has toured the country for nearly a year perfecting its Mastering Window Fashions II curriculum of designs, fabrication, marketing and business sessions. The Mastering Window Fashions II program serves as the base for the Boston educational conference.

The team includes Deb Barrett, Window Dressings, Kaneville, IL.; Joan Willis, Robb & Stucky Drapery Workroom, Ft. Myers, FL; and LaVelle Pinder, LaVelle Pinder Decorating, Austin, TX. Throughout 1996 the trio combined its knowledge, which all together spans about 50 years, to extend the best inside information in various specialties of the window coverings industry.

See More Than 100 Actual Window Coverings
One highlight of the program is a session that presents more than 100 actual window coverings for attendees to inspect and photograph for future reference. The fabrication techniques and suppliers' names for each design are shared so attendees can use the ideas and products in their current or next projects.

By attending this or other seminars during the event, window coverings professionals can receive credits and be tested during the conference in order to earn Associate, Specialist or Master status in the Window Fashions Certified Professionals[TM] (WFCP) Program. (Note: Design projects must also be completed to earn the Specialist and Master Level Certification.)

About WFCP
The benefits of WFCP include promotional materials such as a diploma, WFCP logos, advertising slicks and press releases. The WFCP logos can be used on business cards and letterhead to identify a professional's expertise to clients. The press releases are an excellent way for graduates to inform local media of their knowledge of the field; some might also want to include a letter extending their services as a consultant or source for articles on window coverings. Joining WFCP can be a great tool for opening doors for window coverings professionals educationally and promotionally.

Meet New Suppliers and Your Peers
Another way to open doors is to interact and exchange ideas with fellow designers and window coverings suppliers. To help in this area, special events and seminars are offered to encourage mingling and discussion.

Suppliers assist attendees educationally as well with workshops scheduled at various times during the show. The workshops include in-depth descriptions of products and techniques; and attendees should feel free to ask suppliers questions regarding specific situations they have encountered.

The best source of information is often those who are tackling the daily dilemmas that arise in the industry, so there are plenty of opportunities to discuss trouble-shooting techniques throughout the conference. Attendees should bring plenty of business cards, to pass to new acquaintances and to enter drawings for free products and resources.

The Boston Curtain & Drapery Show offers an ideal setting, educational program and trade show for window covering designers, fabricators, installers, workrooms, suppliers and manufacturers to gather and find the best in the industry.
