Wanted: Opinionated Readers

Reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, so far, regarding the updated look of Draperies & Window Coverings, which began with our August issue. We've received many comments from our readers. Words such as "fresh," and "modern" keep coming up, and that's great because it's just what we had in mind.

We appreciate all of our readers' comments-so much so, in fact, we've decided to give a handful of regulars an opportunity to become an even closer part of the magazine. We're asking window coverings and interior fashion retailers, designers, decorators, workrooms and installers to become partners in our Reader Advisory Board. Board members will help us keep D&WC lively and relevant. They'll be polled from time to time for their reactions to articles and their opinions on how Draperies & Window Coverings can continue being the most comprehensive source for industry knowledge and expertise.

We're looking for serious, enthusiastic and non-biased readers who will not be shy about providing us feedback. We all know there's no shortage of opinions in this industry, but good ideas are always welcome. Earlier this year we ran a series of surveys asking readers how they market their businesses and what channels of advertising they use regularly. The results of the first survey are scheduled for the November issue. More recently, we've added a Letters column to our pages. Both ideas followed suggestions from readers.

If you're interested in helping us keep D&WC the industry leader in quality editorial and educational excellence, all you need to do is drop us a line-e-mail, snail mail or fax-telling us about yourself, your business and why you think you'd be a good choice for our panel-submitted essays should be 200 words or less. We'll choose the top responses, and notify our newest partners with a certificate and a small gift to show our appreciation. Panel members also will have their names and businesses printed prominently in the magazine.

Here's your opportunity to become an active partner with your industry's leading trade magazine. Please don't delay, we'll need your essays by November 20!
