NEW OFFICERS, DIRECTORS

Amy Burton, Burton Designs, has been elected to serve as a WCAA director at-large. She joins the new officers for 2001 elected by the WCAA board of directors. They are: Bruce Heyman, president; Larry Lariviere, vice president; and Beth Hodges, treasurer (See D&WC, September 2001)

CERTIFIED WORKROOM PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

WCAA's Certified Workrooom Professional (CWP) program is now available. As the most comprehensive, single educational program in the industry, it requires a minimum of six weeks self-study in preparation for the examination. When you register for the program, you are immediately sent the study materials—so don't wait until the last minute!

Listed below are the upcoming testing locations and dates. The cost of the program is $375 for non-members and $295 for members. Contact Mark Nortman at the WCAA office to register or for more information.

• October 27, 2001, Providence, RI

• March 23, 2002, Baltimore, MD

• February 1, 2002, Las Vegas, NV

• April 20, 2002, St. Louis, MO

 

PROVIDENCE BOAT TOUR

You've watched it on TV—now see the real thing! Join the Northeast Chapter of the WCAA on Saturday, October 27, 2001, for a harbor tour of Providence, RI, host of this year's Boston Curtain & Drapery Show.

Climb aboard for this fabulous tour of historic Providence. Enjoy a narrated harbor cruise to see Providence's unique waterfront. Highlights of the cruise include Ponham Rocks Lighthouse, Squantum Club and the Brown University Boathouse. While on board, drinks and hor d'oeuvres will be served. Pick up is at 5:30 p.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The cruise departs at 6 p.m. and returns at 8 p.m.

WEB SITE RECOGNITION AWARD

The WCAA is proud to announce the creation of a new Web site recognition award to be presented to it members for having both used the WCAA logo on their sites and also creating a site promoting the window coverings industry. This award is available only to WCAA members and will be displayed on their home pages.


The Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) is the only national non-profit trade association dedicated to the retail window coverings industry and to the dealers, decorators, designers and workrooms who are its members.
