CAROZZA NEW PARTNER AT WWT

Eugene J. Carozza has joined Jaime A. Escobar and Richard W. Holmes as a partner of Worldwide Window Treatments, LLC (WWT), Long Island City, NY. Carozza formerly was president of Carpenter Certech, a unit of Carpenter Technology Corp., manufacturing specialty ceramics for aerospace, sporting and decorative uses. Prior to that he was vice president of operations for Howmet Corp., a manufacturer of investment castings for aerospace.

In July 1997, WWT purchased the assets of the Gould Mersereau Co., Long Island City, NY, a 127-year-old manufacturer of window treatment hardware. (See D&WC, November 1997) WWT markets the Gould name throughout the United States, Europe and South America.

MCCARTHY, SHAIKIN NAMED TO QUEPLEX POSTS

Barbara McCarthy has been named operations manager at Queplex, USA Inc., Deer Park, NY. While working in that capacity, she also will be responsible for customer service and sales. McCarthy formerly was operations manager for U.S. Polymers.

Bernie Shaikin has been named vice president of sales. He is responsible for sales and marketing in the tri-state area including New York.

Queplex Ltd., Saint Leonard, Quebec, Canada, earlier this year opened a 10,000-square-foot facility in New York to service the East Coast primarily as well as other areas in the United States. (See D&WC,September 1999)

 

BARRY NAMED TO 3 DAY BLINDS' MARKETING POST

3 Day Blinds, Inc., Anaheim, CA, has named Barbara Barry vice president of marketing. Barry brings an extensive background of marketing positions for companies such as Smart and Final, Unocal and Adolph Coors Co. to her new post. She also has served as marketing manager for the Orange County (CA) Transportation Authority.

3 Day Blinds owns and operates more than 180 showrooms from California to Ohio.

SEABROOK ADDS CLARK, LINSCOTT

Seabrook Wallcoverings, Inc., Memphis, TN, has added two account executives.

Kelly W. Clark has been named account executive for Utah, Idaho and Montana. He brings experience as an independent sales representative of commercial furniture to his new post.

The new contract account executive in the greater Atlanta, GA, area is Charles Linscott. He has 29 years of experience in manufacturing and contract sales. A charter member of the International Interior Design Association
