From the feast-laden fare of Thanksgiving to New Year's grand finalé celebrations, homes everywhere are preparing for the upcoming holiday season. Whether the mood to be struck is one of casual elegance or sophisticated drama, inviting finishing touches can be found in a multitude of interior fashion options.

Featured in the cozy niche of this country living room is an elegant Austrian Classic window shade from Hunter Douglas Window Fashions. The fabric is a jacquard reminiscent of Austrian curtains, and the shade features a scalloped edge and French gimp to complete the look. The decor's festive red palette sets a definitive holiday spirit.

This formal treatment provides a perfect backdrop for an intimate conversation between guests. The treatment is a döfix flat Roman shade with butterfly bottom, gathered swags and jabots. The shade is made using RFK transparent shade tape, especially designed for extremely transparent fabric, and is virtually invisible. It is first ironed on and then sewn afterwards to assure a pucker-free design. Banding is made with döfix iron-on hemming tape. dofix
