Industry Council Meeting The WCAA conducted a semi-annual Industry Council meeting on Thursday, September 18, 1997, in Chicago, IL. The purpose of the meetings is to provide a forum of discussion between the industry manufacturers, fabricators, retailers and the WCAA. The Council has provided valuable ideas for both the members and the Industry Partners of the WCAA. Look for several new ideas to take shape in the coming year. In attendance at the meeting were: Carolyn Silberman, Draperies & Window Coverings; Cindy Whittstock, RollEase Inc.; Steve Beard, Wesco Fabrics; Larry Lariviere, WCAA president; Jack Fox, WCAA treasurer; and Mark Nortman, WCAA Executive director. New Industry Partners The WCAA is proud to announce three new additions to its growing list of Industry Partners. As an Industry Partner, companies support the mission of the WCAA to make available educational opportunities, to encourage a code of business ethics and to work for the betterment of the industry. Aztec Electronics, based in North York, Ontario, Canada, is a leading software and multimedia developer for the interior decorating industry. Its trademark product, The Designer's ProQuote, is the most widely used estimation and order processing software on the market today. ProQuote is used by decorators, designers, workrooms and fabricators. Delaware Dry Goods Co., located in Newark, DE, is a distributor of basic and fashion decorator trimmings and sewing notions featuring a complete line of workroom supplies for immediate delivery. Platinum Designer Rugs, located in Port Jefferson Station, NY, is a manufacturer of custom area rugs, as well as commercial and residential broadloom. Chapter News Austin, TX -- The Austin chapter will hold its next meeting on Thursday, November 20, 1997. The chapter will elect officers after the first of the year. Northeast MA -- The Northeast MA chapter will hold its next meeting on November 13, 1997, at Nagog Woods Community Center in Acton, MA. The topic will be a demonstration of members' favorite top treatments. The meeting is open to all current WCAA members and guests.
