3 DAY BLINDS APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT
Randy Yeager has been named president and chief operating officer of 3 Day Blinds, Inc., Anaheim, CA. He will devote most of his energies to the retail operations of the company while Art Schumann, CEO and chairman of the board, continues in his overall corporate position and focuses much of his attention on manufacturing and the company's ongoing expansion.
Yeager brings to the company a wealth of retail and management experience at virtually all levels of operations. His immediate past position was CEO and president of Ralston Enterprises, Tustin, CA. He had been with that company for 10 years having risen from general manager in Hawaii to the top executive post in California. Prior to joining Ralston, Yeager was director of retail stores for Eddie Bauer for nearly a decade with operating responsibility for all U.S. and Canadian outlets. He also has served as president of the Copper Rivet Co., a casual clothing retailer in Alaska, and as an independent business consultant and broker in Hawaii.
3 Day Blinds is a manufacturer and retailer of window coverings. The company employs nearly 100 people at its Anaheim factory and operates nearly 180 retail outlets across the country.
HOULÈS HANDED FROM FATHER TO SON
The leadership of Houlès Worldwide, Paris, France, has passed from father to son. Philippe Houlès has been named president and CEO of the family owned and operated trimmings manufacturer. Philippe's father, Pierre Houlès, former president and CEO, remains chairman of the board of directors. Philippe's mother, Suzanne Houlès, remains vice president and creative director.
"Both my parents have worked very hard to build this company into an international success. It's my responsibility to continue that success by expanding market share and entering new markets while ensuring the quality of our products and dedication to customer service," Houlès said.
Founded in Paris in 1935 by André Houlès, the company began as a hardware supplier to upholsterers. Today, Houlès Worldwide produces more then 40 lines of trimmings in addition to a complete line of drapery hardware, fabrics and design accessories. It has subsidiaries in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Singapore plus a network of representatives in 40 countries.
BTX PROMOTES BEDFORD
BTX Window Automation, Inc., Dallas, TX, has promoted Kelly Bedford to director of engineering to head the company's mechanical engineering department. Bedford is responsible for the development of mechanical systems as vital components of motorized systems for window coverings.
Bedford joined the company in 1997. Prior to that she worked for RollEase, Inc. She holds a degree in mechanical engineering from The Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL.
WOOTEN, MARSHALL JOIN SUPERIOR
Henry L. Wooten has joined Superior Fabrics, Inc., Pompano Beach, FL, as director of new business development. He will focus on the growth and diversification of the company's products into other markets.
Wooten brings more than 25 years of experience in the textile industry to his new post. Most recently he was marketing manager with Freudenburg, an international manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics.
Lisa Marshall has joined the company as business development manager. Her new responsibilities will include the development of new business in all product areas for the company's fabric and shade divisions.
Marshall brings more than seven years combined sales and product management experience in window fashions to her new post. Most recently she served as product manager for the specialty window products division of Tietex International Ltd. Her responsibility was to service the window coverings distributors and manufacturers of vertical blinds and pleated shade fabrics for the home furnishing and recreational vehicle markets.
KELLOGG PROMOTED AT SOMFY
Kyle Kellogg was recently promoted to sales administrator in the inside sales department at Somfy Systems, Inc., Cranbury, NJ. Previously he served in the company's power motor division.
Kellogg will be responsible for assisting
customers with technical service and order
support. He brings sales experience from his prior service to his new position.
SEABROOK HIRES RICHARD
Kent Richard has joined Seabrook Wallcoverings, Inc., Memphis, TN, as the new contract executive for Memphis and Jackson, TN, and Arkansas.
Richard has prior experience with Seabrook both as a customer service representative and as a customer service trainer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Crichton College in Memphis.
BIRKINS NAMED WAVERLY VP
Waverly, New York, NY, has appointed Arthur Birkins vice president of national account sales. In his new position he will direct the company's national accounts for fabric and home fashions sales efforts.
Birkins brings to his new post more than 20 years of home furnishings management, marketing, sales and merchandising experience garnered both in the retail and maufacturing sectors. Most recently he served as president of The Rug Barn, Inc. while also heading the window fashions division of Home Innovations, Inc., both divisions of Decorative Home Accents. His retail experience includes serving as executive vice president of Home Express, Inc., a 33-store home furnishings chain.
