Industry exhibitors, speakers and attendees meet in Baltimore.

The International Window Coverings Expo just held in the sold-out Baltimore Convention Center from March 18 to 22 was the largest and most successful show in the industry, according to show organizers Messe Frankfurt, Inc. and Window Fashions magazine. Two hundred sixty exhibitors displayed the latest innovations and products in window coverings.
Nearly 9,000 qualified buyers, interior designers, fabricators and other industry professionals attended the show. This number represents a 60 percent increase compared to each of the competitive events held in Orlando, FL, and Atlanta, GA, last year. Attendees were able to see all industry leaders in the window coverings business under one roof, displaying the latest window treatments, innovative systems, decorative hardware, wall coverings, area rugs, awnings and accessories. The total of 260 exhibiting companies occupied twice the floor space compared to last year's shows. Through the combined efforts of the show organizers, a record number of buyers from a total of 51 countries attended making the International Window Coverings Expo a "must see" event for North America and putting the show on the agenda of international participants. Contributing to the show was a seminar program featuring speakers and international celebrities such as Lady Caroline Wrey, an accomplished author and designer in the window treatment field. Numerous networking sessions featuring industry leaders, social events and a special raffle with a 1998 Corvette convertible as the first prize rounded off the program. All profits of the raffle will be donated to Chesapeake Bay Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore. |
