| NATIONAL MEETING The WCAA held its annual meeting on Friday, March 22 in Baltimore, MD. The agenda for the evening consisted of a cocktail reception followed by a brief business meeting. The highlight of the evening was Bruce Heyman, WCAA national president, recognizing Kitty Stein for her outstanding efforts and dedication in helping to develop the new Certified Workroom Professional program. A surprised and emotional Stein also thanked Ethel Mahon for all her help on the program. CERTIFIED WORKROOM PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM As the most comprehensive, single educational program in the industry, this program requires a minimum of six weeks self-study in preparation for the examination. The program covers period window treatments, history of window coverings, measuring and calculating yardages, business principles and practices, principles and elements of interior design and fabrics. The course requires a minimum of eight weeks advance study before taking the exam. The cost of the program is $265 for non-members and $200 for members. Testing dates and locations are the same as listed above.
