Reinvent Current Trends with Unexpected Products
No matter the style, the right combination of products and accessories
creates the look your customers want.

by Michelle Fallon

Today’s home décor styles come to life by creating a perfect balance between color, textures, light control and clean lines that help define these trends in new and unexpected ways. All of these elements can be brought together with new vertical blind product offerings.

HIGH MOUNTAIN

The High Mountain home décor style revels in nature, American tradition and the great outdoors. Rustic elements and Native-American-inspired patterns bring your own private mountain retreat to everyday living.

To create a High Mountain home décor, incorporate antiqued silver, medium woods with a strong, visible grain; and a rustic and distressed look with layered finishes. Medium colored wicker, Navajo-inspired blankets, Ikat, pinecones, pineapples, moose and bear motifs help to accentuate this style.

To add texture to this trend, rely on leather and nubuck products, nail head trim, braid, fringe and piping to create a rustic décor. Leather verticals add a rich dimension and unexpected pairing in function and style to windows. The new selection of deep mocha and black leather vertical blinds offers the perfect finishing touch for any High Mountain room.

italian country

These new vertical products equally define the tone of Italian Country motifs. Rooms designed in the Italian Country home décor style feature heavily adorned and overstuffed furniture combined with Old World elegance at its most opulent. Ideal for large homes, Italian Country is rich in carved woods, aged and worked, sumptuous silken fabrics, and embossed leather and velvet to create a comfortable elegance.

Kirsch’s new Rome velvet verticals emulate this style in 12 rich colors including eggplant, artichoke and royal red. Designers are sure to take note of this fashion-forward vertical blind that won WCMA’s Best New Vertical Style Concept for Vertical (see page 24).

GLOBAL FUSION

Bring the richness of life around the world home by creating Global Fusion rooms. Ethnic patterns layered over natural woods create a vibrant warmth and incorporate medium exotic woods such as mahogany, ash for grain, tea and coconut wood wenge, with ceramics and tropical, tribal, jungle and animal motifs.

Exciting materials such as reeds, grasses, bamboos and yarns in woven wood shades as well as leather verticals and wood blinds bring the outdoors in. These products add the perfect finishing touch to any room.

SOPHISTICATED MIX

The harmonious mixture of vintage and modern, funky and refined blend together to create a Sophisticated Mix of styles. This eclectic style utilizes personal and heirloom pieces to complete a room. The color palette includes neutrals with splashes of color.

The possibilities are endless with the updated fabrics now available in vertical blinds. And, a new product feature that emulates the flow of draperies for verticals is Kirsch’s Backstacker™ feature that keeps the stack at the control side of the window to reduce sway and pull strength.

With the exciting new offerings of verticals on the market today, it is easier than ever to combine fashion and functionality to create the perfect style for any room.
