HUNTER DOUGLAS PROMOTES FARR
Greg Farr has been appointed to the newly created position of assistant general manager for Hunter Douglas Window Coverings Division, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Formerly director of product management, Farr has been integral to the success of the division during the past seven years he has been with the company.
Prior to joining Hunter Douglas, Farr was senior product manager for Texwipe Corp.
BREWSTER PRESENTS 1999 SALES AWARDS
Brewster Wallcovering Co., Randolph, MA, recently presented its annual President's sales awards for residential and contract representatives. The awards, presented by Ken Grandberg, Brewster president, are based on contests designed to recognize the efforts of the company's representatives in several sales areas.
Vince Henn was presented the President's Cup award as the Brewster Residential Sales Person of the Year. Henn is a 20-plus year veteran of the wallpaper industry and was the only sales representative to win a first place ranking in all trimesters of the contest.
Kevin Cooney, also a 20-plus year industry veteran, was awarded the Brewster Residential Sales Manager of the Year award. The sales manager contest combines excellence in a number of sales related areas along with coaching, training and motivating skills.
Chris McGowan was presented with the President's Award as the Brewster Contract Sales Person of the Year. The contract sales contest evaluates sales efforts in a number of areas and rewards the representatives who most effectively provide solutions for their customers' needs.
BTX APPOINTS BUTTITTA, KEENAN TO MARKETING POSTS
BTX/Elero Motorization Supply, Dallas, TX, has named Anita Buttitta head of the company's marketing services group where she will be responsible for supervising all marketing communications functions including advertising, direct mail, literature and press releases. Buttitta joined the company in 1990.
In addition, Kevin Keenan has been named manager of marketing and sales. He has held various positions in the technical and commercial departments of the company with expertise in window covering automation.
MCCORVEY APPOINTED ASSEMBLY SUPERVISOR
Window Fashions, Inc., Pittsburg, PA, has appointed Rosetta McCorvey as assembly supervisor for the horizontal blind department. She brings six years of experience to her new post.
CDWA ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
The Chicagoland Drapery Workroom Association (CDWA) has elected new officers and board members.
Robert Zank will serve as the new president, Janinne Simard as first vice president, Tim Plauck as second vice president, Bob Sherlag as corresponding secretary, Kathy Wickstrom as recording secretary, and Barbara Vincent as treasurer.
The new board members are: Denise Axtell, Marta Cullen and Mary Ann Luessi.
HFPA BOARD FOR NEW MILLENNIUM
The Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA), New York, NY, has announced its new board of directors for the 1999-2000 term.
Carl Goldstein, S. Lichtenberg & Co., was elected president; Park Smith, Park B. Smith Ltd., was elected vice president/president-elect; Thomas O'Connor, Springs Window Fashions Division, will remain as treasurer; and Joseph Mattera will continue as secretary. All officers are elected to terms of two years.
In addition to enhancing member benefits, a priority for Goldstein's term is the expansion of the association's outreach to students considering a career in home textiles.
