WCAA Welcomes Latest Industry Partners and Announces Industry Council
The WCAA welcomes its newest Industry Partner members: Comfortex Corp., Kravet Fabrics, Newell Window Furnishings, Lafayette Venetian Blind, On-Site Drapery Cleaning & More and Warm Products Inc.
Industry Partners are the associate members of the WCAA. They represent the industry suppliers, distributors and other allied companies that support the mission and the goals of the Window Coverings Association of America, and consequently the dealers, decorators and designers who are the WCAA's direct members.
Additionally, Richard Frederick, WCAA president, has announced the formation of the WCAA Industry Council, composed of representatives from Industry Partner members and the WCAA Board of Directors. In making the announcement Frederick stated that "the purpose of the Council will be to create a forum to provide for an ongoing dialog between our retail members and our Industry Partners." The first meeting of the Industry Council is scheduled for the Pacific Home Fashion Fair in San Francisco in August.
The Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) is the only national non-profit trade association dedicated to the retail window coverings industry and to the dealers, decorators and designers who are its members. Breakfast Seminar to Be Held in San Francisco
The WCAA will host a Breakfast Seminar in conjunction with the Pacific Home Fashion Fair in San Francisco, CA, on Saturday, August 24, 1996. The Breakfast will be held at the Parc Fifty-Five Hotel prior to the show seminars, which also are being held at the hotel.
Focusing on current design trends, the speaker lineup will include LaVelle Pinder. Pinder is the owner of LaVelle Pinder Decorating, Austin, TX; a WCAA director; and a nationally known speaker, whose expertise covers all aspects of window coverings retailing.
Additional Appointments to WCAA Board
Following a May meeting of the Board of Directors, several additional new appointments to the WCAA Board were announced. Two new directors have been added to fill open positions: Aaron Manes of Aaron's Window Treatments, Cooper City, FL, and Shelley Ball of Annette's Drapery Designs, Chicago, IL. Manes will be the director for the southeast region and Ball will be the director-at-large.
Further changes also included: Larry Lariviere of Larry's Custom Interiors, North Hampton, NH, will be the 1996 WCAA vice president and Doyle Brakebill of Master Drapery, Phoenix, AZ, will be the 1996 treasurer. Lariviere formerly was the director for the northeast region, and Brakebill formerly was the director-at-large.
