Whenever former New York City mayor Ed Koch was out in public he made it a habit of asking constituents, "How am I doing?" It practically became his trademark phrase. While we might not use the same wording here at Draperies & Window Coverings, our concern for how well we're doing is genuine. The editorial staff is always open to comments, suggestions, appreciation and criticism on how it's covering and reporting on the window coverings and interior fashions industry. We're easy to get a hold of at our Northbrook, IL, office, and we appreciate knowing when we're doing something right. Of course, we understand there's always room for improvement, too.
Over the years D&WC also has become a forum for discussing topical issues and trends. Our Guest Editorial feature has been the prominent place for industry professionals-manufacturers, fabricators, retailers, workrooms and designers alike-to voice their opinions and share their experiences and knowledge on important issues having an impact on this business. Beginning with next month's issue there will be an additional opportunity for D&WC readers to tell us what's on their minds: our Letters column. From time to time if there's something in the pages of this magazine you feel compelled to respond to, then write us-or fax us, or e-mail us. We're only calling it Letters to keep it simple. (There will be some rules, of course. Unsigned letters will not be printed. We will retain editorial control over content. Replies will printed when appropriate.) We're excited about providing this new opportunity and we look forward to your letters. Draperies & Window Coverings is your magazine, too. Your thoughts and comments will help keep our editorial focused and create an ongoing dialog among industry professionals that can only benefit us all. Address correspondence to:
