OK, it wasn't exactly 20 years ago today (sorry Beatles fans!), but 2001 begins the 20th year of publication for Draperies & Window Coverings and we just couldn't resist.
In each issue throughout the upcoming year we'll be celebrating our anniversary with some things we hope will jog your memories, make you stop and think and maybe bring a smile your face. Things like interviews, advice and columns from early issues of D&WCmany of which you'll find astonishingly apropos for today's business environment. We begin this month with "flashback," which brings back some promotional and marketing tips from retailers around the country that originally appeared in our very first issue. There's another important milestone we're hitting this year: It's the return of the D&WC seminar program, which dates back more than a decade to 1989. In the best traditions of this magazine, D&WC: A Whole New World remains close to its roots by providing educational and instructional seminars on industry topics from workroom quality standards to error-free measuring and total room decorating. And it also looks forward with ideas and strategies to lead window covering and interior fashion professionals to continued success in the years ahead. For business, that means technology. With the addition of a highly qualified faculty of technology speakers (see for full details), D&WC: A Whole New World presents seminars at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels that will cover Internet marketing and new business technology from e-mail to e-commerce and digital imaging. D&WC: A Whole New World will be held April 26 to 28 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. At end of the event's first full day we'll formally celebrate two decades of publishing during D&WC's 20th Anniversary Gala. We hope to see you there! |
