Dillon Begins Term as CMG President Hall Dillon, CMG, Dorn Color, Inc., Cleveland, OH, will begin his term as 1999-2000 president of Color Marketing Group (CMG), Alexandria, VA, in January. As president, Dillon will be responsible for planning and implementing programs that deliver value, benefits and services to CMG's members. A member of CMG since 1986, Dillon served as executive vice president and as a member of CMG's executive committee and the board of directors. He also has served as treasurer, an active voting member in the Inter-Society Color Council, chairman of the TechKnow Committee and co-chairman of both the Colors Current and Mixed Industry committees. Dillon is chief executive officer and sole owner of Dorn Color, Inc., a national manufacturer of color cards and color merchandising aids. Brewster Adds Young Brewster Wallcovering Co., Randolph, MA, has added Patrick Young to its Boston, MA, sales team. Young brings more than seven years of sales experience in the wall coverings industry to his new post. He has worked as a sales representative for a national wall coverings distributor and managed a retail hardware and home center. Fransila Joins Somfy Canada Justin Fransila was recently hired as West Coast sales representative for Somfy Systems Canada. In his new position he will be responsible for technical, sales and service support for clients in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Before joining Somfy, Fransila worked as a financial assistance worker for the British Columbia government Social Welfare Department. He also was an applications and specifications specialist within the lighting field and was employed by a variety of lighting manufacturers. Beggs Promoted at Duralee Fabrics Christopher B. Beggs has been promoted to national showroom sales manager for Duralee Fabrics, Ltd., Bayshore, NY. He has been the company's New York showroom manager for more than two years. He also brings a 10-year background in retail and wholesale fashions to his new position. Beggs will be responsible for all Duralee corporate showrooms including staffing. He also will supervise and maintain the corporate image throughout its showroom network.

In Memoriam: Hunter Douglas, Inc. Chairman Fuchs Jerry Fuchs, chairman of Hunter Douglas, Inc., Upper Saddle River, NJ, died October 23, 1998, in New York City following a brief illness. He was 57. Fuchs joined the firm in 1981 as president of Hunter Douglas Window Coverings and later held the positions of president of Hunter Douglas, Inc. and chairman and chief executive officer responsible for all North American operations. In his 17 years with Hunter Douglas, Fuchs is said to have invigorated the company's sales and marketing approaches and to have been the driving force behind its broad range of window fashion products. His emphasis on innovation resulted in the introduction of many new products and styles. During his tenure Hunter Douglas experienced exponential growth from 90 employees to more than 6,000 today in manufacturing, assembly and sales operations throughout the United States and Canada. Sales soared tenfold. Fuchs branded all products manufactured and sold under the Hunter Douglas Window Fashions banner, creating greater recognition for the company as a result, yet he retained the entrepreneurial spirit crucial to the company's success. Fuchs also was pivitol in the company's overseas expansion, including a joint venture for the manufacture and distribution of Hunter Douglas window coverings in Japan. Prior to joining the company Fuchs was president of a Beatrice Foods division in Rahway, NJ, and held key positions with the Litton Division of Litton Industries and IBM. He received a bachelor of science degree from Manhattan College with additional studies at Columbia University. Fuchs was born in New York City and lived in Oradell, NJ, for many years before moving to Upper Saddle River, NJ, 15 years ago. He was active in charitable and philanthropic endeavors including board memberships in Tomorrows Children's Fund at the Hackensak (NJ) University Medical Center; and G.W. Carver Service Corp., a Paterson, NJ-based manufacturing company providing jobs for inner-city youths. Fuchs is survived by his wife, Jeanie; sons Kevin M. Fuchs and Brian Fuchs; brothers Larry Fuchs and Alan Fuchs; and mother Mary Fuchs.
