HOPKINS HONORED BY AMERICAN CRAFT MUSEUM The American Craft Museum, New York, NY, held its annual Visionaries! gala in October to honor outstanding artists, designers and practitioners in the field of contemporary craft. Among this year's honorees was Marvin Hopkins, president and CEO of Hunter Douglas Window Fashions, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Under Hopkins' guidance, Hunter Douglas has demonstrated a strong understanding and appreciation of craft in the innovative window fashions it has created and has joined the American Craft Museum in sponsoring several programs such as the Designing with Light symposia (see D&WC, January 2001, page 22) and the Horizon Award for emerging craft artists. Hopkins expressed his admiration for all of the year's Visionaries noting the artists' "creative approaches, dynamic materials and innovative technologies." A portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to the New York Times 9/11 Neediest Fund. PFROMMER MANAGES DUPONT' TEFLON UPHOLSTERY AND HOME FASHIONS Lisa K. Pfrommer, an experienced textile manager, has been appointed manager of upholstery and home fashions for DuPont[TM] Teflon® stain protection. In her new position, Pfrommer is responsible for marketing in these key home segments and building on the successful Teflon global lifestyle concept, "Let Life Happen." A native of Rochester, NY, Pfrommer has been with DuPont, Wilmington, DE, since 1989. She started her career in Richmond, VA, as a project management and first line manufacturing manager for Nomex® fiber. In 1996, she assumed a management position in marketing and sales for DuPont Kevlar® brand fiber in the protective apparel market. For her work there, Pfrommer received the DuPont Marketing Excellence Award last year. This summer, she relocated to Philadelphia to begin her new position.

ASID INDUCTS FELLOWS The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Washington, DC, in October inducted 11 individuals as Fellows, the highest honor the society bestows on its members. The award is given based on service to the interior design profession by promoting excellence and achievement from within ASID. The new Fellows are: H. Don Bowden, Barbara Campbell, Sandy Friend, Marilyn Hansen, Jim Marstiller, Phyllis Moore, Mary Jane Reeves, Melinda Sechrist, Michael Souter, Judy Verges and Diane Worth. The new inductees all bear the appellation of FASID. Induction into fellowship is based on distinction in one of five areas: promoting the excellence and advancement of interior design; enhancing the profession of interior design by advancing the education, training or the practice of interior design; providing leadership to the interior design industry and the profession of interior design; ensuring the advancement of human living standards through improving interior environments; and preserving the health, safety and welfare of the public.
