All About kids

Children's imaginations know no boundaries. Neither do the design themes for the special spaces they call their own. From linens to wall coverings, from window treatments to accessories, never before has there been such a wide array of interior furnishings with which to create rooms that allow kids, both young and old, to make their own personal statements.

This one-of-a-kind window treatment was made just for kids, and features a lively and colorful polka dot fabric pattern. The flat Roman shade is made using iron-on Roman shade tape Rollofix RF transparent from döfix No Sew. The tape eliminates sewing on rings since fabric loops are woven into the tape itself. Iron-on banding is applied on top of each line of tape using Bortenfix hemming tape to ensure a pucker-free finish. Tiebacks and bows were created using döfix iron-on tieback interfacing 2003D.   Parkview Designs
the spectacular surroundings   One little boy's love of the jungle comes to life in this room created by designer Sura Malaga. A friendly elephant painted on one wall and a lion on another provide the artistic backdrop without overdoing the theme and overwhelming the room's occupant. A sturdy bed with storage drawers, a desk and wall unit allow this safari lover ample room for displaying and storing treasured items.
Personalized treatments for children from newborns to teenagers are easy to accomplish with Duitall Connectable Accents from Conso Products. Each connectable bracket can be finished with any flat-backed item; in this case, ceramic tiles that have been accented with cut-outs from the drapery fabric. To tie it all together, trimmings from the Empress Collection match the colors perfectly.   Conrad Roman-fold shades
Shutters deliver   Decorator Candice Schiller of Hired Hand in Houston, TX, chose shades from the Manhattan® Collection of premium Duette® honeycomb shades from Hunter Douglas for this girl's bedroom. To accent the décor, energy-efficient shades in a subtle peach semi-opaque fabric with tiny dots were selected from the Chelsea[TM] Collection, one of seven elegant fabrics. The shades' honeycomb construction traps air to insulate against heat and cold.
