Seminar Presentor:
Karla J. Nielson
Allied member, ASID, IDEC, WCAA; Assistant Professor, Brigham Young University

This seminar requires one-month advanced registration.

Enhance your knowledge, skills and prestige as a window coverings professional by becoming a Certified Window Treatment Consultant. A firm understanding of product knowledge in soft window coverings will not only increase your design abilities, but also will build confidence in your presentation skills -- resulting in increased sales.

This comprehensive course is sponsored by the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) and was developed with industry support. The program is comprised of two parts:

Part A, The Basics of Window Treatments, provides information on window coverings functions, measurements, ready-mades, hardware selection and installation, selling coordinating ensembles, fabric fibers and product care.

Part B, Custom Window Treatments, includes period treatments, calculating yardages, fabric selections, combining treatments, creativity in designs and professional practices.

The seminar, presented by Karla J. Nielson, reviews this material through interesting lectures, slide presentations and working problems. A two-part examination is administered at the end of the day. Those who pass are awarded a certificate and lapel pin.

A minimum of one month advanced study is required to be adequately prepared for the review seminar and examinations. All registrants will receive the textbook, Window Treatments, and two course study guides authored by Nielson.
