Can you believe we have known each other for nearly 18 years? Next month Draperies & Window Coverings will begin its 18th year in publication! That's 18 years of being this industry's leading design, product, news and marketing information resource. If there's any doubt, just check us out. Like all of the industry's top suppliers, we stand behind our product. Better yet, when you're recognized as the industry's No. 1 publication, everybody knows it-even our respected competition can't resist placing ads here. And for good reason: Draperies & Window Coverings has helped the industry grow since 1981 and continuously invests in editorial, design, circulation and people-all resulting in superior reader response. Reader response is exactly what we're looking for in our new series of Retailer Surveys. One of the constants over the years has been requests by hundreds of individuals who have contacted us seeking more specific details on product and market trends. This month we begin with shutters (Click here. Back in 1992, we ran a similar survey and we'll compare it to the results of our 1999 survey in a later issue. With the help of industry experts we have modified this year's survey to include newer product arrivals on the market today-most notably vinyl and composite foam shutters. We encourage our readers to send, fax or e-mail their responses to our survey, or even complete the questionnaire on-line . Some of the other topics we have planned for upcoming issues include vertical blinds, horizontal blinds and motorization. Because you are the ones who have dedicated your lives to developing and selling these products we invite you to share with us questions you feel should be included in upcoming surveys. If there is a particular product category you would like to know more about, please let us know. Our relationship with readers has always been a two-way street. The results of these surveys will help independent retailer, designer and fabricator readers stay on the industry's cutting edge as they turn to Draperies & Window Coverings each month-year after year-for the latest information and innovative ways to grow.
