Landau Moves to Imperial
Mike Landau has joined Imperial Wallcoverings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, and will lead product development, marketing, advertising, public relations and brand management. He has served as president of FSC Wallcoverings since 1990, having become corporate vice president of Schumacher in 1983. Landau has worked in the wall coverings industry since 1969 when he joined Dwoskin Wallcoverings where he served for 10 years before moving to Schumacher. He has received a significant number of industry awards including the 1989 Industry Achiever Award and the Justin P. Allman Award in 1990. He became the first president of the merged Wallcovering Association in 1992. Last year, he received the David H. Litter Humanitarian Award. Management Changes at Hunter Douglas' Tupelo Facility Hunter Douglas Window Fashions, Upper Saddle River, NJ, announces changes in the management team at its Tupelo, MS, facility. Wayne Sumner, controller for the components division based in Whitesville, KY, will assume additional responsibilities as controller for Tupelo, where he will relocate. Prior to joining the company he was controller and human resources manager for Gauld Equipment in Mobile, AL, and for nine years vice president of finance at Blair Industries, Inc. and Maska US/CCM. Jim Anderson will oversee materials management for the window coverings division and the Tupelo plant. He retains his position as business unit manager for encapsulated window coverings. He worked for 25 years at Alcan Aluminum Corp., in Warren, OH, where he last served as product manager for the window and door group. Cheryl Storey has been appointed customer service manager for the window coverings division. Previously she was sales administrator with Parker Hannifin, Booneville, MS, and has experience working with the QS 9000 quality assurance procedures. Conso Fills Two Management Posts Conso Products, Co., Union, SC, has filled two key management positions in its corporate office. Julie von Freymann, formerly marketing manager, has taken the position of merchandising manager. This newly developed position will research selling strategies of the company's major retail customers. She also will offer new ideas for product presentation, display fixturing and signage. Additional responsibilities include presenting new sales programs and assisting in implementation of the plans. Susan Gregory has been designated marketing manager. Her main responsibilities include managing advertising, public relations, implementing sales promotions and updating sales materials. Additionally she will have input concerning new marketing plans, product development and the publishing of the annual sales catalog. Jaroslow, Zike Join HDI Harmonic Design Inc. (HDI), Chatsworth, CA, has announced two additions to its management team. Deirdre Jaroslow has been appointed vice president of national sales. Previously she was with RollEase, Inc. Tom Zike joins the company as vice president of direct sales. The company also announced plans to relocate to a new facility by the end of March. LVB Adds Morris Lafayette Venetian Blind, Inc. (LVB), West Lafayette, IN, has added Kathy Morris to its sales force. Morris is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) with an associates degree in interior design. She has worked independently in Southern California, for a design firm in Boise, ID, and has owned her own interior decorating buisness. She brings nearly 10 years of experience to her new position where she will work to build close partnerships with accounts in the greater Los Angeles, CA, territory. ADO Promotes Holmes Raé Holmes has been promoted to design/advertising assistant for ADO Corp., Spartanburg, SC. She has been with the company since January 1995 as a customer service representative, bringing a detailed knowledge of ADO's product line to her new position. Holmes is completing a degree in political science and has begun work on a second major, interior design. VIMCO Names Ackerman to Northeast Post Alan Ackerman has been named Northeast regional sales manager for VIMCO[TM] Shading Systems, Richmond, VA. He is a veteran of the window treatments industry with numerous years of experience specializing in motorized systems. He left BTX Window Automation, Inc. to join VIMCO and was with Makita Drapery Systems prior to that. Ackerman's territory will include Maryland and north. He will work directly with dealers in the Northeast assisting them in motorization needs. Comunale Heads South Florida Vertical Sales South Florida Vertical Supplies, Inc., St. Petersburg, FL, welcomes Thomas Comunale as its vice president of marketing and sales. He brings more than 15 years of management experience in the window treatments industry to his new post. Comunale will work with key suppliers in initiating programs designed to supply the window coverings industry with quality products competitively priced. Before joining the company he was director of marketing and sales for Coastal International, vice president of marketing and sales for Superior Shade Co., director of fabricator and distributor sales for Joanna and vice president of marketing for Dixie Verticals divison of Hunter Douglas Seven Account Execs Named at Seabrook Seven new account executives have been added to the sales team at Seabrook Wallcoverings, Inc., Memphis, TN. Ben Dunavent III has been hired as the new account executive for western South Carolina and western North Carolina. Along with other relevant knowledge, he brings years of experience in his own family's decorating center to his new position. Following years of interior design experience, Anne Ehlinger is the company's new contract account executive for southern Illinois and St. Louis, MO. Gwen Hartman will service Seabrook's contract customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, area. She brings more than 10 years experience in the wall coverings and paint market to her new post. Joining the company as account executive in Massachusetts and Rhode Island is Nanci Hooper. Marcia McDonald has been added as the new account executive for the St. Louis, MO, area. She has several years experience in the wall coverings industry. With past experience in the textiles, tile and paint industries, Joie Miller will be responsible for contract sales in Southern California. With more than seven years of sales experience, Greg Williams comes to Seabrook as account executive for the south Texas area. Wells, Burnette Join Brewster Brewster Wallcovering Co., Randolph, MA, has added two new members to its sales force. Rick Wells has been appointed residential sales manager for the company's Southern region. With more than 20 years of experience in the wallpaper industry Wells has held sales management positions for Eisenhart, Key Wallcoverings and Walltrends. He will relocate to Atlanta, GA. Phillip Burnette is the newest member of the Brewster Southwest Central sales team. He will service retail customers in the Louisiana and southern Mississippi territory. He brings more than 10 years of sales and management experience to his new post. |
