SPRINGS WINDOW FASHIONS NAMES FAWCETT COO
Springs Window Fashions, Middleton, WI, has appointed its president, Scott Fawcett, to the additional position of chief operating officer. The announcement came in late March and was effective immediately.
As both president and COO, Fawcett will be responsible for overseeing all business activities, as well as developing strategic initiatives designed to help Springs meet goals within the company-wide focus areas for 2007. He will report directly to Rob Zabel, CEO.
“Over the past year, Scott has proven to be a dynamic president with tremendous leadership skills, and this appointment officially recognizes his contributions to the company, while giving him greater authority to execute organizational processes that will create a more lean, vigorous organization,” said Zabel.
Fawcett will manage all aspects of Springs’ day-to-day business including product management, manufacturing, marketing and operations. He also will be responsible for achieving the financial objectives of the company, including all annual fiscal goals that pertain to budget, efficiency and profitability.
Fawcett joined Springs in 1995 as senior vice president of marketing and sales and was named president of the company in January 2006.
COMFORTEX ADDS STEPP, HARRIS
Comfortex Window Fashions, Maplewood, NY, has announced two appointments: Bill Stepp is the new vice president of composite wood business, and Patrick Harris is the new director of logistics.
Stepp has begun overseeing all of the operations and personnel at the company’s Phoenix, AZ, facility. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the plant as well as all wood alloy extrusion processes for Woodwinds® Wood Alloy Blinds and Shutters.
Stepp comes to Comfortex from Hunter Douglas where he served as vice president of the shutter business unit in the national accounts group and vice president of operations for Elmar Window Fashions.
Harris joins Comfortex after seven years at Saint Gobain Performance Plastics and, most recently, as materials manager at the Hoosick Falls, NY, plant.
KAHN JOINS THIBAUT AS PR, MEDIA MANAGER
Thibaut, Newark, NJ, has announced that Sabeen Khan has joined its marketing department as public relations and media manager.
For the past six years Kahn was with F. Schumacher & Co., most recently as associate marketing manager implementing public relations and brand-building programs as well as working with international agents on brand promotion.
In her new position at Thibaut, Sabeen will be a key contact for individualized PR projects and communication, as well as advertising and media placement.
INDA NAMES OGLE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Steve Ogle, a long-time veteran of the non-wovens and technical textiles industry, will join INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, Cary, NC, as its new technical director. Ogle replaces Cos Camelio, who retires in June after six years as technical director with the association.
In his new position, Ogle will be responsible for directing the association’s technical efforts, working with INDA member companies on technical issues, coordinating research and testing methods with various associations and organizations around the world, and managing the Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics (JEFF), the association’s research journal that is published together with TAPPI, The Fiber Society and AATCC.
Ogle joins the association from Leggett & Platt, Inc., Nashville, TN, where he most recently served as vice president-research and development since 1997. Prior to that he spent 10 years in L&P’s non-woven manufacturing division, where his responsibilities included managing the new testing/research lab for L&P’s non-woven manufacturing division. |
