DIETZ MEETS FORBES IN ENTREPRENEUR FORUM
Scot Dietz, CEO and president, 3 Blind Mice Window Coverings, San Diego, CA, was one of a small gathering of Southern California entrepreneurs invited to attend an open forum in October to meet with Steve Forbes of Fortune magazine.
The private event, held at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA, featured a roundtable meeting sponsored by YEO (Young Entrepreneurs Organization), a global community of business owners, all of whom run companies that exceed $1 million in revenue.
COMFORTEX ANNOUNCES WICKES, BREWER APPOINTMENTS
Comfortex Window Fashions, Maplewood, NY, announces two recent appointments. Susan Wickes has been named to the newly created position of director of cost accounting, and Deborah Brewer is the new territory manager for Delaware; Maryland; Washington, DC; and northern Virginia.
Wickes is responsible for cost, accounts payable and analysis. In 2006 she was in charge of implementing the new SAP computer system for the finance department. She has been employed at Comfortex since 1998.
Brewer has been active in the window treatments industry since 2003 and has gained both retail and wholesale experience as part owner of Custom Blinds and Shutters, Jacksonville, FL. Since 2005 she has served as a Hunter Douglas sales consultant.
SHUTTERSMART ADDS NUSS TO HEAD TURN KEY SHUTTER FABRICATION PROGRAM
ShutterSmart, a division of US Polymers Inc., Los Angeles, CA, has added Steve Nuss to head its Shutter Fabrication Program. Nuss comes to his new post with more than 15 years of industry experience working with Comfortex in setting up retail fabricators.
“Steve’s focus will be to launch ShutterSmart’s new Turn Key fabrication program throughout the 13 Western states,” said Viken Ohanesian, president.
TMS NAMES WILDE NATIONAL SALES MANAGER
TMS Inc./Menagerie, Orlando, FL, announces the appointment of John Wilde to the position of national sales manager.
Wilde is a 20-year veteran of the gift and home accessory industry and has held sales and managerial positions at the manufacturer and rep organization levels. He will be responsible for directing the home décor and drapery hardware division of TMS Inc. |
