BEVIS NEW PRESIDENT AT INTERIORS BY DECORATING DEN
Jeff Bevis, a 22-year franchising veteran, was recently announced as the new president of Interiors by Decorating Den, Easton, MD.
Announced October 1 by Jim Bugg Jr., former company president and now CEO and vice chairman, Bevis joins the 39-year-old family-owned business with more than 470 franchise units throughout the United States and Canada.
“After an extensive six-month search, I couldn’t be happier to have found an individual whose expertise is extensive in all aspects of franchising,” said Bugg. “He’s excelled in developing franchises within a franchise system, and . . . he’s positively impacted the retail sales of those franchisees.”
Bevis, who received his Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation in 2001, was introduced to Interiors by Decorating Den’s franchise network during the company’s recent High Point Furniture School Training.
“Although new to this industry, I am committed to franchisee success. I look forward to continuing to develop the open, trusting relationships that I’ve already seen as one of this company’s great strengths,” said Bevis.
CRAGG JOINS EXCITING WINDOWS! AS MARKETING SPECIALIST
Exciting Windows! and Window Coverings University has named Kathy Cragg as marketing specialist and window fashions instructor.
A former interior decorating franchise owner, Cragg will be responsible for developing a model “Trunk Show Event” for large and small consumer groups. She also will train and implement the program with all Exciting Windows! licensed and franchised members, according to Steve Bursten, CEO.
“Kathy brings . . . 20 years of marketing and sales experience along with a sharp ability to discern our needs,” cites Bursten, “Her years of experience using our Make a Friend sales philosophy successfully in her own business gives her an added advantage in providing training and motivational speaking.”
Cragg started her career with Decorating Den and later formed her own home-based business.
WINDOW FASHIONS, INC. CHOOSES KRISTOFIK AS EXAMPLE EMPLOYEE
Window Fashions, Inc., Cheswick, PA, recently has selected Paul Kristofik as an example of its employee dedication and enthusiasm.
Kirstofik began at the company in 2000, almost eight years ago. He started in the customer service department, then was promoted to production manager for two-inch product in the company’s Pittsburgh, PA, facility, and now works in the IT department. It is because of employees like Kristofik, the company says, that it has continued to thrive in this industry.
DUERK JOINS 3G MERMET AS DIRECTOR OF SALES, MARKETING
Chris Duerk has joined 3G Mermet, Cowpens, SC, as director of sales and marketing as of November 5. Duerk brings significant knowledge to 3G Mermet having worked in various capacities in the window coverings industry over the past several years. Duerk previously was employed with Nibrol in Lancaster, SC, as sales manager for the exterior shading division and most recently held the position of satellite manager for Empire Today, a leading provider of installed home furnishings and home improvement products in the United States and Canada.
In conjunction with Duerk joining the 3G Mermet team, the organization has been restructured so that he will assume full responsibility for sales, marketing and customer service. "We are pleased that Chris has chosen to pursue his career with 3G Mermet," said Jules Duguay, 3G Mermet general manager.
