Improving Skills and Sales
The second annual Exciting Windows! conference draws from 24 states and beyond.

More than 100 members, staff, suppliers and guests of Exciting Windows! met at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, January 30 to 32 to learn the latest products, trends, and customer-service techniques. Participants in this second annual conference increased their professional savvy and gathered ideas to take back to their customers at home, located in 24 states and internationally in the Bahamas.

“Members at this conference are improving their skills and their sales in 2006,” said Steve Bursten, chairman and CEO of Exciting Windows! “Each portion of the conference was created to share the latest information for attendees to serve their customers better and build a more successful business. No question, Exciting Windows! certified consultants are the best educated network of window coverings professionals in the industry.”

The focus of this conference was four priorities:
1. Preferred Customer Marketing—a non-media approach to building leads and referrals.
2. Branding For Profit—building on the Exciting Windows! brand of service and using premium private brands for a competitive edge.
3. Building a Sales Team—through support of Window Coverings University.
4. Better Buying—for more profit.

CLASSES, SPEAKERS
Special pre-conference classes were provided by Window Coverings Univer-sity at no cost for Exciting Windows! members. Classes included: Mentoring and Managing Sales Consultants; Advanced Window Cov-erings Design; Intermediate Advertising; Advanced Sales, and others. An exceptional variety of classes assured members of added opportunity for personal development and business growth.
Featured speakers included Jeff Falcon, president and owner of Bay Home and Window and one of the leading sales and management experts in America; Len Casey, former president of Heritage and St. Charles kitchen cabinet companies and the only two-time winner of the DuPont International Award of Excellence in Marketing; and Harvy Nudleman, president of Fabricut, one of the largest fabric distributing companies in America.

Neil Gordon, national director of design for Exciting Windows!, conducted classes and workshops throughout the event as did co-founders, Steve Bursten and Steve Wishnow.

FEATURED PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONS
“We are proud of our new advertising and marketing programs,” said Steve Wishnow, president of Exciting Windows!. “These new initiatives will focus on the upper 20 percent of the market, where our members’ professionalism and product quality will be rewarded with the highest customer response and the opportunity to win sales with quality and professionalism instead of price cutting.”

Attendees also voted on two new members of the 2006 National Advisory Council, and met with suppliers. Featured product introductions included Comfortex, Fabricut and new Eco-Smart premium quality cellular shadings, now available exclusively to Exciting Windows! members.

Solatech Inc., long respected for computer pricing and ordering systems for blinds, shadings and shutters, introduced a new fabric and drapery pricing system based on charts developed by Jo Ann Brezette.

Exciting Windows!, www.exciting windows.com, is a national network of expert window coverings professionals trained and certified to provide 21 Peerless Points of Customer Service along with an exclusive four-way guarantee for on-time appointments, product quality, 10-year durability and guaranteed best pricing. Founded in June 2005, Exciting Windows! has 60 members throughout the United States. It is a fast growing network exclusively for experienced window coverings professionals selling all products of blinds, shadings, shutters, and draperies.
