INTERIOR DECORATING FIRM OWNER RECOGNIZED AS 2005 FRANCHISEE OF THE YEAR

Sandra Hambley, owner, Decor & You, Vienna, VA, was recently named Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA), an organization that protects, enhances and promotes franchising. The award is given to exemplary business owners in the franchise industry.

Franchisee of the Year recipients were honored at the IFA’s 45th Annual Convention on March 8 at the Diplomat Resort Country Club, Hollywood, FL. In addition to complimentary registration and priority seating at the convention, Hambley received a special trophy as a mark of distinction.

“I’m very proud to be recognized for the way that I’ve grown and managed my business,” said Hambley. “I look forward to exceeding the interior decorating expectations of our clients and continuing to deliver quality design services to the Vienna community.”

ELMAR ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO SALES AND MARKETING

Elmar Window Fashions®, Willow Grove, PA, welcomes four additions to its sales and marketing organizations.

Steven Rosenfeld will cover the central New Jersey sales territory. He brings several years of window coverings experience, a solid understanding of the Hunter Douglas product line and experience in the decorative fabrics industry.

Diana James will be responsible for Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She brings more than 15 years of experience in consultative sales and management, as well as owning and operating her own interior design business.

Angelo Franco, who has been with Elmar for more than 10 years, will handle the northern New Jersey sales territory. Aside from a strong understanding of Elmar’s internal operations, he brings a thorough knowledge of the full Hunter Douglas product line.

Claire Lally joins Elmar’s marketing department as marketing communications specialist, providing retailers with a variety of marketing services. She comes to Elmar with extensive marketing experience on both the retail and manufacturing side, focusing on Internet and Web site development and marketing.

GCAF PROMOTES PETERS, GUISANDES

Gulf Coast American Fabrication (GCAF), Naples, FL, announces organizational changes within the corporation.

Mike Peters has been promoted to Builder Accounts Manager and will manage business development activities with builders throughout Florida. Due to his extensive experience as shutter production manager, Peters will join the sales and marketing department and also take on the role as the company trainer and shutter specialist.

Raimundo Guisandes has been promoted to shutter production manager and will continue to manage the daily operations of Hunter Douglas and GCAF brand shutters.

SUNLAND ADDS RAZIANO TO SALES FORCE

Sunland Shutters, Long Beach, CA, is proud to announce the addition of John Raziano to its sales force. Raziano will concentrate his efforts on the South Florida market. He has 24 years of experience focusing on sales and marketing in the window coverings industry; his credits include but are not limited to Gulf Coast American Blind Corp., ISO–Teck Industries and Hunter Douglas.

NEW REGIONAL MANAGER JOINS DRAPER

Draper, Inc., Spiceland, IN, has announced the addition of Stuart Milligan as its new regional Sales Manager for the Middle Atlantic region, including Washington, D.C.; Delaware; Kentucky; Maryland; Virginia; and West Virginia.

Milligan brings a great deal of experience in sales and business management, including owning his own business for the past 15 years. He joined the company at the end of January.

DESIGNER BLINDS APPOINTS HUBNER DIRECTOR, SALES AND MARKETING

Andrew Hubner has been appointed to the newly created position of director, sales and marketing for Designer Blinds, an Omaha, NE-based full-line fabricator of Hunter Douglas window fashions.

Hubner joined Designer Blinds as a sales executive in 1993. He has served as branch manager of Designer Blinds’ Lenexa, KS, facility and as sales manager.

As director, sales and marketing, Hubner will relocate to Omaha to take on a larger role in strategic planning and long-term development.
