PERSONNEL CHANGES AT ROLLEASE
RollEase, Inc., Stamford, CT, has announced several personnel changes.
David Levonick has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing.
Most recently he was Director of Sales and Marketing with Linzer Products
Corp, a leading producer of paint applicators, where his responsibilities
were managing sales to the retail trade while creating a marketing
structure. Levonicks extensive sales and management background
encompasses a variety of sales management positions for a progression
of leading companies including Royal Window Coverings USA, Springs
Window Fashions, Braun-Gillette and Rubbermaid/Newell.
Rod Iverson has been appointed Western Regional Manager. With more
than 22 years experience in the window coverings industry he has held
positions with Comfortex, Levolor and MechoShade. Iversons responsibilities
include servicing existing accounts, opening new accounts, presenting
new products and partnering with his customers to grow their businesses
profitably.
Jerry Rivera has been promoted to International Regional Manager.
He now is responsible for sales in all global markets.
Maria-Teresa (Mayte) Jennings has been promoted to Manager Product
Development.
Jennings has extensive engineering experience in design, manufacturing
and marketing support for a variety of industries. Her new role will
focus on new product conceptualization and design, and she will manage
the activities of the engineering department.
ROSALES JOINS SUPERIOR ROMAN SHADES
Superior Roman Shades of California announced that Edwin Rosales
has recently joined its customer service department. He has worked
in customer service, installation and sales of hard window coverings
for the past five years.
IN MEMORIAM: VALERIE COHEN
Valerie Petacque Cohen, former publisher of Draperies & Window
Coverings and Interiors & Sources magazines, died August 7. She
is survived by her husband David, sons Frank (Linda) and Leonard and
a granddaughter, Helen.
Cohen began with L.C. Clark Publishing Co. in January 1982 as a sales
representative and was later named publisher of two of its publications.
She left the company in January 1996.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the
Arlington Cancer Center, 906 W. Randol Mill Rd., Arlington, TX 76012.
IN MEMORIAM: LUTHER PIDGEON
Luther A. Pidgeon, president of Draper, Inc., Spiceland, IN, died
July 5. He was the grandson of Luther O. Draper, founder of the
company, and joined the firm upon his graduation from Purdue University
in 1940.
With the exception of his service in the U.S. Army during the Second
World War, Pidgeon spent the remaining 64 years of his life at Draper
and assumed its presidency from his father, Elmer Pidgeon, in 1960.
In 1957, Luther Pidgeon decided to add projection screens to the
companys product offering. Today Draper is the second largest
manufacturer of projection screens in the world. He also was instrumental
in the development of the companys window shade and gymnasium
equipment product lines.
Pidgeon maintained an active interest in the companys affairs
until the final days of his life. Draper will continue under the
ownership and management of Luthers son John Pidgeon and nephews
Michael Broome and Chris Broome.
