ELMAR ADDS SHUTTER SPECIALIST

Elmar Window Fashions®, Willow Grove, PA, announces Kevin Lavery as the new Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Shutter Specialist. Lavery’s primary objective is to develop Elmar’s shutter business and support both new and existing retailers with selling, measuring and installing shutters.

Lavery has been with the company for five years and has experience in many roles within the company. Most recently he was the Customer Education and Employee Development Manager, where he specialized in training dealers on both Heritance® Hardwood and Palm Beach™ Custom Shutters. Elmar is a full-line, exclusive Hunter Douglas fabricator.

COMFORTEX NAMES WILSON PHOENIX PLANT MANAGER

Comfortex Corp., Maplewood, NY, has appointed Kevin G. Wilson to the position of plant manager of its fabrication facility in Phoenix, AZ. He will lead the effort to increase fabrication production efficiencies and oversee the fabrication of new product at the site.
Wilson brings more than 30 years of manufacturing experience in such fields as oil tools, aerospace, water purification products and most recently the window treatments industry. He also has worked as a fabrication efficiency consultant and has extensive window fashions operations experience.


SOMFY APPOINTS LOPRIORE, ACKERMAN

Somfy Systems, Inc., Cranbury, NJ, announces the appointment of Tracy LoPriore as Product Marketing Manager for Interior Window Coverings. In her new position, LoPriore will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing programs for the interior window coverings market. She formerly was a Product Marketing Manager at Philips Consumer Electronics.

Somfy also announces the appointment of Marty Ackerman as Systems Integrations Engineer. Ackerman brings 10 years of experience from BEI Automation where he engineered and marketed a product line to audiovisual systems integrators.

In his new position, Ackerman will be liaison between Somfy and home automation and audio/video manufacturers, educating them about the methods of integrating Somfy products with theirs so they can offer their customer base a seamless window shade control.

KNOTT AWARDED CMG CHAIRHOLDER STATUS

Bruce Knott, Manager of Dealer Training and Development at Springs Window Fashions LP, Middleton, WI, has been awarded Chairholder status by Color Marketing Group (CMG), an international association for color and design professionals. The distinction is conferred to recognize the time and commitment individuals have contributed to CMG’s programs. Knott will be one of 15 new CMG Chairholders honored at its 2004 Fall International Conference in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Knot has been a member of CMG for three years, has contributed to CMG by actively participating in its last six conferences, has served as a facilitator for new member training and is currently the vice chairperson for its Networking Committee.
