DRAPER WEBMASTER RECEIVES AWARD

Sandy Broadstone, CSI, Webmaster for Draper, Inc., Spiceland, IN, received a Merit Award in the Manufacturer’s Website Category of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Specifications Competition. The Merit Award recognizes entries that use new or unusual approaches, or that handle specific conditions in a particularly effective manner.

Since joining Draper in March 2000, Broadstone has overseen two complete overhauls of the company’s Web site. She also introduced the concept of providing Draper dealers with completed Web pages, a time-saving idea for dealers that is now being taken up by other companies.

KRISTOFIK PROMOTED AT WINDOW FASHIONS INC

Window Fashions, Inc., Cheswick, PA, announces the promotion of Paul Kristofik to Production Manager for two-inch product in the company’s Pittsburgh facility.

Kristofik was first employed in 2000 as a Customer Service Representative.


ELMAR NAMES TANTILLO NORTHWEST REGIONAL MANAGER, ADDS MILLER IN MIDWEST

Elmar Window Fashions™ announces Ron Tantillo as its new Northeast Regional Manager. In support of the company’s focus on Operational Excellence, Training and Education and Business Solutions, Tantillo will lead Elmar’s sales efforts in the Northeast region and will assist Elmar’s Sales Consultants in creating strong business solutions.

In a separate announcement, Elmar has named Melissa Miller the newest edition to its Midwest Sales Team. Miller comes to Elmar with a strong background in sales, marketing and new business growth experience and will assist accounts in the Chicago area.

DSC WINDOW FASHIONS ADDS ERICSON AS NEW SALES MANAGER

DSC Window Fashions, Arvada, CO; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA, has welcomed Sandy Ericson to its Seattle-area sales team. Ericson brings an extensive background in the window coverings and textile industries. She has a degree in home economics and textile marketing and has spent her entire career in the field.

Ericson will cover the Seattle Peninsula territory and serve accounts in southern Seattle, into Tri-Cities and Boise ID.

MARIAK ADDS TWO SALES REPS

Mariak Industries, Torrance, CA, has named two new regional sales managers for the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States.

Paul Anderson will represent Mariak in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Ed Price will handle accounts throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Washington D.C.

Both Anderson and Price bring years of experience in the window coverings industry to Mariak where they plan to focus on the expansion of the company’s contract division.


IN MEMORIAM: J. GORDON HIMES JR.

J. Gordon Himes Jr., vice president and co-owner of G&L Technologies, Inc., died March 19, 2004, after a sudden illness. Himes was co-founder of G&L with Lance Reed and was responsible for many programming and design innovations that revolutionized the shutter manufacturing industry.

Himes traveled all over the world with G&L helping clients set up and fine-tune newly purchased equipment. “He was truly a genius in design and engineering,” said Reed. “Our future commitment is to do Gordon proud by making G&L flourish in the future.”
