HODGES NAMED WCAA PRESIDENT
Beth Hodges, of Beth Hodges Soft Furnishings, Elberton, GA, has been
elected president of the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA).
The announcement was made at an association reception held in Baltimore,
MD, in April during the International Window Coverings Expo.
Teresa Grysikiewicz, of Interior Attire, Jacksonville, FL, was named
vice president and Larry Lariviere, of Larrys Custom Interiors,
Portsmouth, NH, was named treasurer.
TECHNIKU CEO JOINS WCMA BOARD
Tim Bates, president and CEO of Techniku, Bloomfield, CO, has been
appointed secretary for the Window Covering Manufacturers Associations
(WCMA) Board of Trustees.
The WCMA is the trade association for North American manufacturers
and fabricators of window covering products and their suppliers. It
also is a standard-writing organization accredited by the American
National Standards Institute (ANSI). Additionally, the WCMA sponsors
the annual Product Innovation Awards, providing a forum to celebrate
industry product and program innovations.
Carolynn Jennings, WCMA executive director, stated that Bates has
taken an immediate leadership role in the organization as well as
in the technical committees, and has provided members with invaluable
insight into the automation category.
SUPERIOR ADDS NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE REP
Southern California-based Superior Roman Shades
has announced that Yazmin Diaz has joined its customer service staff.
Diazs background is in custom window treatment sales and customer
service.
SAUNDERS JOINS GULF COAST WINDOW COVERING
Gulf Coast Window Covering, Houston, TX, has announced the addition
of April Saunders to its Dallas sales team.
Saunders comes to Gulf Coast with more than 17 years of sales experience
with the last 10 years spent in a retail window coverings environment.
She will be responsible for accounts located in Dallas and its surrounding
areas as well as eastern Texas.
ELMAR ADDS TO SALES TEAM
Elmar Window Fashions®, Willow Grove, PA, announces four new
consultants within its sales organization.
Jim Light, strategic accounts manager, will support the companys
efforts with its national and regional customers.
Kevin Monsell, northern New Jersey sales consultant; Ed Neff, Tennessee
sales consultant; and Vanessa McDonnell, Georgia and Alabama sales
consultant, are added assets to the Elmar sales team and will support
both new and existing customers in their regions with business building
solutions.
COTTON LINE ANNOUNCES NEW TOP OFFICERS
Cotton Line, Inc., Oakbrook Terrace, IL, has named David S. Corso
president and CEO. Before joining Cotton Line Corso was an executive
manager in charge of marketing and pricing in North America for
Asahi Seiko of Japan.
Rod Maksimovic had been named director of marketing. He will oversee
creative marketing, branding and customer relationship strategies.
Before joining Cotton Line Maksimovic was an executive marketing
manager in the industrial field with Bodine Electric Co.
Cotton Line, Inc. is the Western Hemisphere manager of sales for
KBI Mills, a worldwide textile manufacturer. Its founder, Tariq
H. Cheema, will assume new responsibilities managing production
and delivery for its textile operations in Pakistan, Germany, Australia,
Turkey, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
NARI ELECTS NEW OFFICERS FOR 2004-2005
At its spring board of directors meeting, the National Association
of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Des Plaines, IL, named immediate
past president Mark Brick, Certified Remodeler (CR), of B&E
General Contractors, Inc., Glendale, WI, its chairman of the board
and named Joan Stephens, CR, of Stronghold Construction, Boise,
ID, as its president for the coming year. Paul Winans, CR, of Winans
Construction, Oakland, CA, was elected president-elect.
Brick has served as the associations president for the past
year and will now assume responsibilities as chairman, while Stephens
plans to focus on NARIs presence in the media and legislative
issues, as well as educational outreach to remodelers.
