Housing is a key element in the nation’s economy, accounting for about 15 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in a typical year, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). But that’s not important right now. New homes mean new windows to treat.

In its “Housing Facts, Figures and Trends 2004,” NAHB forecasts a record 1.07 million new homes sold in 2003. With an average of 19 windows in each new, single-family home, there’s lots of work out there for window coverings professionals.
