WCAA NOTES

FLORIDA CHAPTERS ON THE RISE

Window coverings professionals in the Fort Meyers, FL, area recently were encouraged to continue their learning and sharing experiences by forming WCAA chapters in their towns and cities. Teresa Grysikiewicz, WCAA vice president and local chapter development coordinator, ended up with dozens of interested professionals wanting to help start and join chapters across Florida.

Local chapters will start up in early 2005 in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Tampa and Orlando. Contact Teresa, curtain pro@aol.com, (904) 269-5266, to be added to the mailing list for these areas or to discuss starting a chapter in your area.

• The Naples Chapter will hold a meeting on January 7 at Gulf Coast American Fabrication (GCAF). GCAF will present its Hunter Douglas Gallery. WCAA Executive Director Mark Nortman and Teresa Grysikiewicz will be on hand to discuss the benefits of WCAA and starting or being involved in local chapters.

Anyone wishing to start chapters in southern Florida are encouraged to attend this meeting. Contact Karen Hardie, hardie@V2Kwf.com, to RSVP.

• The Jacksonville Chapter has planned out a meetings schedule for the winter and early spring. Contact Teresa Grysikiewicz, curtain@aol.com, (904) 269-5266, to get on the mailing list.

INDUSTRY PARTNERS SUPPORT CHAPTERSWCAA

Industry Partners continue to provide support to the local chapters. Rowley Co. has given a tremendous amount of help to nearly every chapter that has been established over the past couple years. Adaptive Textiles, American Duvet, Evan Marsh Designs, Kasmir Fabrics, döfix, Minutes Matter Solutions and Resin Solutions are companies we hear about again and again from our chapters. Their support has helped our leaders open doors, and windows, for members. Thanks!

Check out www.wcaa.org for a complete list of local chapters, benefits and membership information, and the Certified Workroom Professional (CWP) and Certified Window Treatment Consultant (CWTC) educational programs. Call WCAA Executive Director Mark Nortman, (888) 298-9222, for more details.
