All In One
Gulf Coast Window Covering inaugurates its new site, new logo.

Gulf Coast Window Covering, Houston, TX, held a grand opening for its new, state-of-the-art facility at the end of February. The 83,000-square-foot facility on more than six acres had taken several years of planning and consolidates operations that had been housed in five separate buildings since 1979. The new facility also provides the full-line Hunter Douglas fabricator with 30,000 more square feet of space and almost three additional acres.

“The move has been well worth the effort,” said Bill Gaul, Gulf Coast Window Covering president and CEO, in remarks delivered the afternoon of February 26. “By consolidating all our operations under one roof, we can operate more efficiently. The office now comprises 17,000 square feet and includes an expanded customer service call center; sales, marketing, credit and accounting areas; a beautiful Window Fashions Gallery showroom; and several dealer training facilities. The 66,000 square feet of manufacturing space allows us to produce additional product lines, including the Heritance® hardwood shutters from Hunter Douglas Window Fashions, and increases overall productivity.”

Along with the new facility, Gulf Coast also introduced its new company logo, a contemporary design incorporating a three-dimensional look with a window, blind slats and tassel.

Special guests attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony and new plant tour including Marv Hopkins, president and CEO, Hunter Douglas Window Fashions; Bob Kopf, president, Hunter Douglas Independent Fabricator Group; Jim Bennett, vice president of sales, Hunter Douglas Independent Fabricator Group; Tim Turner, regional sales manager, Hunter Douglas Independent Fabricator Group; Andrew Nazari, Hunter Douglas director of engineering services; Ron Spies, Hunter Douglas vice president of customer education and development; and Wendy Kayser, regional program manager for Hunter Douglas.
Houston Mayor Bill White named the day Gulf Coast Window Covering day in the City of Houston.

DECADES OF SERVICE

Gulf Coast Window Covering began more than 52 years ago as a shade, floor covering, countertop and blind retail business. It now is the largest window coverings fabricator in the Southwest and has been a full-line fabricator of Hunter Douglas Window Fashions for the past 15 years. It employs 240, whose commitment the company recognizes as essential to its growth and success.

Gulf Coast has been under the same management and ownership for nearly 30 years, which provides continuity and stability that few companies can boast today.
